Although, I believe, it only connects to 2G networks. No 4G/LTE. https://roammobility.com/plans
ROAMMOBILITY.COM
Unlimited USA Roaming Day Plans - roam mobility
Heather
I've had LTE
Ryan
They have a coverage map on their website that shows expected speeds in each area. And yes, use Roam. Hands down.

I use Roam (disclaimer: I have them as an affiliate link, DM me if you want it.) and haven't yet found anything better. There is now a worldwide SIM as well, but I think the straight Roam one is better for just US.
It comes in the mail about a week (in my experience). Order before you travel.

You can also buy it at London Drugs and probably other places.
Heather
there's a 2-for-1 sale online right now
Allan
Only thing that is holding me back from ROAM is they don't have weekly rates. They have daily and monthly.
If you're traveling for 2 weeks, which plan would you take?
Andrew
Well some simple math would tell you the price of each comparably. But it really depends if your ok with no talk at all, and how much data you plan to use, for your answer.
Andrew
Also if your staying at a hotel, they usually offer free wifi. Smart use of that can really cut down on the need of data when walking around. Watch YouTube in your hotel, not on the street.

I used foam for my last two trips but their network is pretty slow compared to Telus. Next time I'm just going to use the Telus roaming plan.
Heather
I don't like using my home plan because it eats into my regular data limits. I like to post a lot of photos and live videos when travelling, so I need a lot of data.
Tina
Heather maybe look into getting a SIM card and pay as you go plan from a US carrier. I just found roam so slow sometimes, and sometimes I can't get any signals. I think they use t mobility networks.
Tina
i was in Anaheim and LA which are definitely included in their network. Like I said I just experienced slow service when I was there.
Heather
I had plenty of coverage in LA, Vegas, Hawaii, but not near Area 51.
Janice
Roam Mobility.
You have to have an unlocked phone though. $50 to unlock an iPhone.
Heather
True. I bought mine direct from Apple, so it came unlocked.
Patty
I unlocked my phone for about $4. Several people on EBay will send you the code, with instructions on how to do it. Easy, even for me.
Janine
Apparently as of Dec 1 no more unlocking fees for phones... doesn't help much here but a side note!
Allan
yeah. I saw that.

For travel to the US, I have a roam mobility SIM. It's for local calls, as well as text and data, and their plans include unlimited calls from the US to Canada. But there's also alwaysonline wireless (they have the parent company as roam mobility), which is global data and text (but not calling).
If you want text and data only, OAW is a little cheaper.
Both have the feature that you can keep the SIM card from expiring by buying one day of service every 12 months (which usually costs a couple of dollars) rather than buying a new sim each time the old one expires (which costs $10-20 for the card, plus more for the service plan).

OAW or AOW?
