A walking tour..... it was called something like New York by the Foot- fantastic. View the calendar online and book which tour- book the 6 HR all of Manhattan
. The best!! Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Centre), book a show at Carnegie Hall for $26.50 or backstage tour for $10.00, the Metropolitan Museum- jaw dropping beautiful..... ok I know that's 4 already. NY is a great walking city, sooooo much cool stuff to just stumble across; The Chrysler Building, Grand Central Station
, Brooklyn Bridge, the Waldorf Astoria, St. Paul's Cathedral
. You can get on to so many tv show audiences. We went to the Conan O'Brien N Dr. Oz show. My daughter took a shopping tour!!! Only 6 people, they take you to local designers.... jewelry, clothing, handbags. Whatever your interested in
. Oh yeah great comedy clubs

Big Apple Greeters. Check out this website. Free walking tours led by New Yorkers that are passionate about their city. Our greeter, Jay, was a retired high school history teacher. Highly recommended!

Lori, they advertise as free, but you should tip them., nobody can work for free. We toured with a different Walking Tour- New York By the Foot... not sure; they explain that this is their job. They do an omaZing job n give guidelines as to a tip. In 2011 for the 6 HR tour they recommended $25.00, my niece n I gave them $35.00 each. $10.. for the 2 HR tour. Probably the best thing I've ever done in NY. So please people tip the tour guides; we saw some people didn't
. You'll enjoy this

The greeters are not allowed to accept tips and he reinforced this but we did buy him lunch...this was okay to do. The group BIG APPLE GREETERS does accept donations and our greeter Jay gave us all the information needed to do this...and we did donate.

My daughter and I booked a Real New York Tour online. They pick you up at your hotel and it's all walking and Subway. We saw ALL the things we had on our list in one day with a private tour guide that was AMAZING! Highly recommend it if you're only there a couple of packed site seeing days!

We did the Hop on Hop off Bus, for one full day. Top of the Rock, for great pictures. Times Square during the day and do the night also, when all the lights are on. Got to see Police on horseback also.

I recommend the 9 11 memorial, a stroll through central park, a Broadway show combined with times Square and either the met and/or the museum of natural history depending on your tastes.

9/11 Memorial and Freedom Tower. If you go later in the afternoon to the Tower you can catch the beauty of the view in daylight, dusk and evening. This is spectacular!
