You can get to London right now for 997. When are your dates?
Cian
Aug 8th to 28th ideally but anytime that month for at least two weeks will do

www.google.com/flights/explorer Make sure it is explorer and not explore. Put yvr and destination Europe.
In the summer time air transat has stupid cheap last minute deals but hard if you need specific dates
Kar
Look out for deals. We booked last June for Aug/Sept and this June and paid roughly $350 per ticket (with delta and this year we are flying lufthansa). We only knew of this deal because we spoke to an agent at flight centre and she called us as soon as the sale started. Worth talking to someone for sure.
Amy
What an awesome deal! So when do you book your tickets? I am planning to travel for 2-3 month with my kids. Hoping for end of June till end of August or beginning of September.
Lacie
Where did you fly out of?
Kar
We booked mid June for travel in August and at the same time booked for this April. I don't think it had anything to do with timing, just a seat sale. This is the 3rd time we've flown on a seat sale, so it's just about jumping on it when it comes up. We fly out of Vancouver to Amsterdam direct and then AMS to Barcelona (al inclusive of the $350)
Lacie
Which airline? How were you notified of the seat sale- trying to go in August for our honeymoon
Amy
Thank you for the info. Who is your flight agent and where are they located?
Kar
Our agent was at flight centre on Broadway and Ash, she is no longer there unfortunately, but I would pop into a store and find an agent you can build a good report with and get him/her to email you of any upcoming deals.
Jasmine
Frankfurt is often fairly cheap, and still pretty central.
Brendan
You should wait until 6 to 8 weeks before your flight.
Paulette
London Gatwick or Dublin - air transat for a carrier (they have a sale right now) August can be dicey to wait as that is a big travel time for North Americans travelling to Europe, but I would wait a bit yet as most airlines will have sales in the next month
Paulette
Sign up for alerts from various carriers, klm, air france, british airways, air canada, air transat etc - be patient but ready to jump when a good deal comes up

Find an ideal flight and track it with yapta or hopper. If the price drops you'll get a notification.

I've always gone on air transat to either Paris, London or Amsterdam. Even when traveling in the summer, flights have been no more than $850.

We booked through Irish tourism and got amazing prices
Paulette
This was just posted - it's american airlines out of Seattle to Paris - there are August dates available as well It's about $528 CAD
Cian
We ended up going with Vancouver to London direct for 820 rt
Paulette
Sounds good, these flights would have had the added cost of getting to and from Seattle and an overnight in Seattle before departing, so all the savings would have been eaten up anyways - the general rule of thumb is unless there is more than a $300 savings flying out of Seattle, it is usually not worth travelling there, also most Seatlle flights have at least one stop where Vancouver flights can usually be done direct - a bonus in my books - Have fun, enjoy your holiday
Cian
I know what you mean. Especially with dollar conversion these days. Still a good find I will check Seattle next time
