Kihei (Maui) via Airbnb or VRBO. If you need an Airbnb discount code (assuming you haven't signed up yet, let me know and I can forward one).
Check Costco Travel Canada for the best car rental rates.

If you go to Maui you will need a car to get around. Waikiki is busier but lots of reliable Transit and things to do within walking distance.

Agree with your comments however Waikiki is not Hawaiian.. it's Vegas. Noisy

My sister has 2 weeks near the end of nov at her timeshare in papakea! Awesome spot for kids. two pools, mini golf and great location just up from Lahaina. Pm if you’d like her contact deets. Very reasonably priced which is rare in Maui.

We love papakea!

We stayed at Papakea and did like it, however just know that you cannot swim in front of the resort. Retaining wall, no sand and too rocky and sometimes dangerous. You can walk over a bridge and down a bit to go swimming. Its not too far, maybe 5 minutes to a nicer beach. We rented a car from Maui cruisers. Older cars, cheaper and he leaves them in the airport lot. You dont have to wait around in the rental line ups but you do have to pay the parking fee!

I looooooove Kauai, loved Maui too but you definitely need a rental car, and enjoyed Oahu but found Waikiki too busy and touristy.

The best beach not far from civilization:
Kailua Beach Park

Not Oahu, Big Island is great in the Kona area but less to no sandy beaches. Maui would be your best best bet for beaches, but as mentioned you really need a car. Air BnB or time share rentals are the best for decently priced family accommodations.

Thinking about Hawaii in November with our two-year-old

Planning a trip to Hawaii with a two-year-old can be an exciting adventure! With its stunning beaches, lush landscapes, and warm weather, Hawaii offers plenty of opportunities for family fun. Here are some recommendations for your trip:

Best Island?

When traveling with a young child, Maui is often a popular choice due to its family-friendly activities and attractions. The island offers a good balance of relaxation and adventure, with plenty of beaches, parks, and cultural experiences to enjoy with your little one.

Best Beaches?

Some of the best beaches for families with young children include Ka'anapali Beach on Maui, Poipu Beach on Kauai, and Waikiki Beach on Oahu. These beaches offer calm waters, soft sand, and amenities like restrooms and showers, making them ideal for a day of fun in the sun with your two-year-old.

Cheapest to stay?

For budget-friendly accommodations, consider booking an AirBnB instead of a resort. You can find affordable rentals in various locations across Hawaii, allowing you to save money while still enjoying the comforts of home. Look for properties with kid-friendly amenities like a backyard or a pool to keep your little one entertained.

Any input would be great!

Before booking your trip, make sure to pack plenty of sunscreen, snacks, and toys to keep your two-year-old happy and comfortable during your travels. Consider renting a car to explore the island at your own pace, and don't forget to check out local family-friendly activities like luaus, aquariums, and nature hikes.

Overall, Hawaii in November can be a fantastic destination for families with young children. With a bit of planning and preparation, you can create lasting memories and enjoy a relaxing vacation in paradise.
