I'm a fan of Asakusa! Quick subway ride to wherever you want to go, but a beautiful, traditional and historic area where the Senso-ji temple is. We just got back last weekend - you'll have an amazing time!

Make sure your accommodation offers pocket WiFi too! It's a total lifesaver.

In Tokyo, I recommend the Nui Hostel - very inexpensive but very nice!! Has a cool bar in the lobby and great atmosphere. Located in Asakusa - I've stayed in the area twice, Nui once, but it's my favourite spot in Tokyo!!
Osaka I've only visited for a day - but it was AMAZING.

And yes - pocket wifi, you should be able to pick one up from the airport!!! Total lifesaver

Tokyo:
1. Shinjuku: Shinjuku is a bustling district with plenty of shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Consider staying at a hotel near Shinjuku Station for easy access to public transportation.
2. Ginza: If you prefer a more upscale experience, Ginza is the place to be. This upscale shopping district is known for its luxury boutiques and gourmet restaurants. Look for a hotel in the heart of Ginza for a luxurious stay.
