If you're looking for comfort, good service and inflight experience for this long haul flight.. I'd recommend cathay pacific. I've tried them last year and it's two thumbs up.
Mandy
I didn't like China Southern
Gina
Flew china southern to guangzhou few years back, both my hubby and i said, never to fly with them again. Seats were too narrow and old. We had to help ourselves with water as well.

I just flew with them to Kathmandu and back through China. From Vancouver to China we were on a Dreamliner, which was fantastic, comfortable, spacious. Service was ok. We had smooth connections, no delays. I would fly with then again, but check which aircraft flies that route.
Jess
Dreamliner from Vancouver?...Possible...i flew them to Guangzou and sorry i am also not going on it. You get one drink and second if you wait too long might not find again. Was only given one beer and asked for second was told all gone. Asked for juice or pop and only thing left was orange juice. Pay extra 100 and enjoy good meals atleast. If it was cheap i would fly again but i see online they are similar or above other major airlines as in price.
Robin
I wouldn't recommend China Southern. Flew with them in january and it was horrible.
Shashi
Thanks all for the advice. Think I will skip this airline and find something better
K.
they are cheapest for a reason,,,
Karen
If you can find a flight on JAL (japan air) you wouldn't regret it ....
Shashi
Karen looked at JAL they are pricey! But will keep searching. What about ANA or UNITED? Their prices have dropped a bit.
Mark
Try EVA Air too. I used them last Summer. Got 850 RT Canada - SE Asia - Canada. Connecting Taipei.
Next month I'll go ANA. I've heard they're nice too.
Shashi
Thanks Mark right now getting a price of 1080 for Japan Air. Not sure if this is a good price as seems others have booked for much less
Mark
That's actually a reasonable price given this peak season.
I don't know if you wanna check out Malaysia Airlines. They're pretty good airlines as well. Their reputation just got tarnished recently.
Too bad singapore airlines don't go long haul. They're one of the best airlines to fly too.
Shashi
Singapore air is a great flight for sure! I flew with them from Vancouver many years ago, best flight ever
Shashi
I don't fly till April 2015

EVA Air should be one of your best choices. Check them out, they're the hello kitty planes.
Shashi
I ended up booking ANA flight via Tokyo for $987 total but was surprised they charge $200 for a 2nd bag

Hello all, I haven't booked my YVR- Singapore flight yet but the best flight deals seem to be China Southern flights. This airline didn't get great reviews on Skytrax. Has anyone else had good/bad experiences on this flight? Its an18-hr flight.
