Take a Taxi the fast and cheap. Ask how much it is before leaving. You should see rhythm of the night it's great

At the airport in PV, the taxi are a set price. Unless you leave the airport area. Don`t think things have changed.

The cheaper way to get the taxi is to keep walking forward till you are outside and you see the steps to the Bridge over the road. The "regular" taxis park over there and are way less than airport cabs. Still confirm your fare tho'. If you do not have too much luggage the 2 children can walk on their own it will not be difficult. I would like to warn you as it is your first time going, when you have gone through passport control, got your luggage and through customs there are two long halls to walk along and you will have people shouting at you to offer you a ride etc. PLEASE, make no eye contact and keep walking as tho' they do not exist. Sounds rude but the only way to do it. They are trying to get you to go with them and you will end up not where you are going but to a timeshare presentation or some other thing and it will be hours before you get taken back to your hotel. ACt like you walk through the airport regularly, thinking about this I would suggest, pay the airport "Cabbie" the fare as it will be easier on you and not that much more money, you can have your hotel call you the regular cab for your return trip to the airport. Have a wonderful vacation.....

Thank you for the advise

Needing a taxi to the airport I assume you booked the flight and hotel separate, otherwise if you booked a package the airport to hotel transfer is included.

I booked it with air canada vacations. It didn't say include hotel transfer. It can be request? We have little ones under 3

Kris I would look a little closer at your itinerary or call them. It should be included if it was booked as a vacation and not hotel and airfare seperately.

I agree with Cindy

It should be included with hotel transfer for sure

Transfer to and from your hotel should be included. Your itinerary should have something for your transfers and your accomodations. We have flown to PV a few times with air canada vacations. Someone from AC Vacations should be waiting outside. And yes, avoid the gauntlet on the way out of the airport, these guys are trying to take you somewhere else. Also when you go through Customs, you will be asked to press a button, if the light is red your luggage will be checked.

We did an air canada package to the PV Fiesta Americana (not sure if that is the same as you booked) transfer to the hotel was included. We absolutely loved it there. It's a really cheap cab to the melacon to wander around there is amazing.

Great to know I will look into it

This is what we found. Our trip was booked with air transat and they have people outside the airport with air transat signs. They ask which hotel you're going to, and send you to the correct bus. Once on the bus, we waited about 15 minutes for more passengers. They stopped at 4 different hotels on the way to ours. It worked out ok, but on the way home we decided to take a cab rather than wait for the bus to go to different hotels on the way to the airport. We were unable to check in online and wanted to get to the airport before the bus load, in order to pick our seats. It was only 100 pesos, and worth it in our minds.

Agreed. I was in PV in November and if you're travelling with little ones, just take a cab. From the airport it is a fixed price - not more than $20 CDN and no hassles. On the way back, it's much cheaper as incoming cabs don't have to pay the surcharge.

if its all inclusive they provide a bus for free

Yes, I called them today they said will offer bus to hotel.

Mexico is international flight right? So should be 2 free luggages per person or need pay? Does anyone knows? As we travel to the states in Oct we need to pay for luggages with air canada

Profile picture of Vella

Vella

When we flew to PV in February we were allowed one free luggage each on AC. This past November to PV via west jet Vacations, we also had one free luggage each.

What airline are you flying on? In most cases now including westjet you now pay for your first and consequent bags......

Profile picture of Christin

hand luggage (small cases) would be free to take on board for the children. Read the luggage requirements for whom you are flying with as some are different from others.

Profile picture of Kris

Kris

I read AC baggage policy it says international flights allow 2 free baggages per person. Exception US and Carribean need to pay

Profile picture of Kris

Kris

I called them but was on hold over 30 minutes so I gave up. Itinerary doesn't say anything about baggages.

Go onto the website of the airline you are flying with and you will find all the information. Do a search for baggage allowances etc. If your children are very young you could probably pack their clothing into two small on board cases (are they young enough to have cheap fares)? If so, I am not sure about that. If you had to pay full fare for them both then yes, for sure they get hand luggage for storing on-board. Without knowing your airline I cannot help you more with this question.....

Take a taxi from outside the airport (across the bridge as stated is cheaper). When you enter the corridor to exit after getting luggage do NOT get sucked in. Timeshare! They will try all sorts of stories and may even tell that they are the transportation to your hotel. Keep walking until you go thru the glass doors to exit out of the airport! Vallarta Adventures best option for kid friendly tours.

Make sure you take bug spray as well as sunscreen. We've been going to PV for years and the last couple of times we went, the sand flies were pretty bad -- but they won't bother you if you use your bug spray. Enjoy! PV is a fabulous place, and the Mexican people love children so your kids will have a wonderful time.

Make sure you look for the sign for only your hotel/agency. We were warned about this- I held the kids hands and we agreed to meet through the second set of doors. Hubs got suckered and stopped, the kids and I went right to our westjet sign and waited for him. https://www.tripadvisor.ca/ShowTopic-g150793-i46-k4807384...

First Time in Puerto Vallarta with Kids - Getting Around and Must-Dos

Congratulations on choosing the beautiful Puerto Vallarta for your family vacation! With its stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and abundance of family-friendly activities, you're in for an unforgettable experience. As you'll be staying at the fabulous Fiesta Americana, here are some tips to help you make the most of your trip.

Transportation from the Airport

For families with young children, taking a taxi from the airport to your hotel is generally the most convenient and hassle-free option. Taxis in Puerto Vallarta are readily available, and the journey from the airport to the Fiesta Americana is approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

Upon exiting the airport, head to the designated taxi stand, where you'll find authorized taxi services. Make sure to agree on a fixed rate before getting into the cab, as this will help you avoid any surprises or hidden fees. Alternatively, you can pre-arrange a private transfer with your hotel, which can be slightly more expensive but offers greater peace of mind.

Must-See Attractions and Activities

Puerto Vallarta offers a wealth of activities and attractions that cater to families with young children. Here are some must-dos:

  1. Malecón Boardwalk: Take a leisurely stroll along this iconic seafront promenade, where you'll find street performers, artisans, and plenty of opportunities for people-watching. Don't forget to snap some family photos with the iconic Puerto Vallarta sign.
  2. Los Arcos National Marine Park: Embark on a boat tour to explore this beautiful marine park, where you can snorkel, spot dolphins, and admire the iconic rock formations known as Los Arcos.
  3. Outdoor Adventures: For a thrilling family experience, consider zip-lining through the jungle canopy or exploring the stunning Vallarta Botanical Gardens.
  4. Cultural Experiences: Immerse your family in the rich culture of Puerto Vallarta by attending a traditional Mexican dance performance or visiting the charming town of Sayulita for its vibrant art scene and bohemian vibe.

Don't forget to sample the delicious local cuisine, including fresh seafood, tacos, and churros – a treat that kids and adults alike will love!

With its perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and family-friendly activities, Puerto Vallarta promises an unforgettable vacation for you and your loved ones. Embrace the warmth and hospitality of this Mexican paradise, and create cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
