How about Yukon? It’s beautiful in June... daylight all day!! It’s the poor man’s Iceland
Karen
Winnie Absolutely beautiful in June. Daylight all night long. We are going up in June/July. If you are flying, try Air North. Weather in June is often warmer than Vancouver.

Not really YVR but, have you considered taking the Amtrak Cascades train to Portland? It's a beautiful journey and you start your stress-free travel the minute you step aboard. If you really enjoy train travel then book the overnighter to San Francisco. We've done it twice and it's just the most relaxing, enjoyable, retro experience.

I second this suggestion! Portland is such a neat city to visit. Great restaurants and lots to do. Amtrak is only $50 each way, Bolt Bus is even cheaper, but takes longer. Return flights can be a cheap as $200, if booked on a seat sale.

7-Day Travel Destination Suggestions
Looking for the perfect spot to spend a week's vacation? We've got you covered! Here are some fantastic destinations that fit your criteria of being easily accessible, offering a good mix of attractions without being overwhelming, and being relatively budget-friendly.
1. Tulum, Mexico
Situated on the Caribbean coast of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, Tulum is a beautiful blend of ancient ruins, white-sand beaches, and a laidback vibe. You can explore the iconic Mayan ruins of Tulum, soak up the sun on the stunning beaches, and dive into the crystal-clear waters of the nearby cenotes (natural sinkholes). With direct flights from many major cities, Tulum is an easy getaway that offers a taste of history, relaxation, and adventure.
2. Dubrovnik, Croatia
Nestled along the Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik is a historic gem with its old town encircled by medieval walls. Stroll through the narrow, cobblestone streets, visit the iconic landmarks like the Rector's Palace and Sponza Palace, and take a cable car up to Mount Srd for panoramic views. Don't forget to indulge in the delicious seafood and local wines. With relatively affordable accommodation and direct flights from major European hubs, Dubrovnik is an excellent choice for a 7-day trip.
3. Portland, Oregon
If you're looking for a destination within the United States, consider Portland, Oregon. This vibrant city offers a perfect mix of urban attractions and natural beauty. Explore the quirky neighborhoods, indulge in the incredible food scene, and venture out to the nearby Columbia River Gorge or Mount Hood for hiking and outdoor adventures. With direct flights from many major cities and plenty of affordable accommodation options, Portland is a budget-friendly choice for a 7-day trip.
No matter which destination you choose, a 7-day trip can provide the perfect balance of exploration and relaxation. Happy travels!

Looking for suggestions on where to travel for 7 days. Parameters:
-Somewhat direct flight (don't want to spend two days getting there!)
-More than just a city...want to visit somewhere big enough that we can check out multiple spots, but not too big where we feel like we've missed most of it
-Somewhat budget friendly… See more
