We were actually looking into Costa Rica but we'll be going during rainy season and from the reviews online we couldn't get a handle on where to go or where to stay. If someone has some time to PM me that would be great!

El dorado royale in the Mayan riviera...amazing food, great staff, lots of options, daily tours to various places if you'd like, no mosquitos on the beach. I haven't been to the other Karisma resorts but have heard amazing things about the entire chain from other friends!
Kate
If you're not into beaches and would rather explore may I suggest NOT an all inclusive
Puerto Vallarta has some great options on airbnb. Easy to explore the surrounding areas by taxi or bus. Mismaloya was fun!
Kate
Sayulita would be nice too!
Andrew
Cuba

There's a great Baltic Cruise at the beginning of June. Scandinavia, Estonia and Russia. See it on travel best bets

Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica, Peru. All inclusive except for your travel to the town the resort is in. The resort picks you up from the airport. You go on excursions everyday into the amazon.
Anne
Stay some where cheap cheap in the Mayan riviera and spend your money on excursions.
We did that once and had a great time.
Stayed at the coco reef. Small AI. Close to 5th ave .
