A solo trip at an all inclusive is kinda boring imo. Do the hostel route. You're bound to meet other singles that are travelling by themselves. Cancun is meh. If you wanna party then head over to Playa del Carmen but I'd be fairly diligent around there. Imo, Tulum is very safe and not much further away from Playa del Carmen. Or go north to Isla Mujeres.
Debra
Leona love Isla mujeras... the Isle of women. Such a fun place to go and if you're single you will still have so much fun
Jigz
Leona I second isla de mujeres. I have been there twice in the last 12 months n I’m debating on going back solo n do the hostel called pocna
Lisa
Puerto Vallarta been and feel totally safe there vs the Caribbean side. Just my opinion. If I was going by myself that’s where I’d go. A friend of mine went for a couple of weeks herself and loved it.
Maureen
Lisa I have gone to PV as well solo two times. Felt very safe there. My first trip was 10 nights my 2nd trip was almost 3 weeks. I don’t do all inclusive. I stay in smaller Boutique hotels.
Kayla
Travelled most of Mexico and a lot of it alone. No issues. I did hostels and couch surfing plus a few all inclusive
Hallie
I did twice last year: solo, all inclusive, Playa Del Carmen and Puerto Vallarta. I booked couple tours at the hotels and they were good.
Chantal
I've done solo to Mexico all inclusive and love it. Also taken my 2 kids solo and no issues whatsoever. Love Mexico, we are going in 3.5 weeks!
Carly
I have done solo all-inclusives twice and felt they were less safe than a normal trip. It’s harder to leave a bad all-inclusive than to leave a bad hotel or hostel, and I find that in resorts the staff can really easily observe your routines, comings and goings, room access, etc. I mean, I am literally solo in India right now and feel safer I’m random hostels than I have at any all-inclusive. I don’t travel for short periods of time so I can’t recommend any specific oceanside places that are worth visiting for only four days.

I have travelled solo many times to the south coast of USA - Florida, Texas and all in between - rent a condo or house on the beach, rent a car so you can see the sights. Very safe - only downside is you don't meet others easily - depends on what you want. I have found the best way to meet others (even when not travelling solo) is to pull up a stool at the bar - not a table.
Susan
There r some good little hotels in PV
Akshay
I just came back from barcelona , its great

Hi Sannara, I have gone solo at Club Med in Cancun, I learned how to water ski there. Another option and my current favourite is El Cuyo on the Yucatán Peninsula. I have a blog post that would give you all the details. There’s a very nice expat community there. Let me know if you want the link to the blog post.

That was my first solo trip and it is a good start if you’ve never done anything alone before! It’s nice to have your shuttle and everything booked. It’s easy to meet other people at the resort too and you can do some excursions they have if nervous but if not to nervous google and get off the resort on your own. It’s a little less stressful all inclusive for your first time and you then get addicted and plan your own trip for the adventure
Amanda
Roatan. West Bay. You won’t regret it!
Leona
Amanda not worth it. Flights are over $1000 and longer than 24h when you can easily get to Cancun for under $500 (5.5h) especially given her timeframe.

i did my first solo trip this year to mexico city and really loved it. i'd vote for going to somewhere in a hostel on the beach as some have suggested. i have heard good things about going to puerto escondido and staying in beach hostels there. also join girls love travel facebook group, it's a great resource for solo travel info!
Colleen
Check out gadventures- no single supplements and you are with 16 others from all over the world
Paula
I've done varadero cuba solo! Very safe
Maureen
Paula Agree...I went solo to Varadero as well and felt very safe.
Alan
I do solo lots. There is a single surcharge on top of the regular rate. Do it!!! Always a great time. Lots of friendly people to meet.
Nicole
Costa rica
Shelagh
Need a minimum of 7 days...2 days spent travelling is hard
Gloria
I have gone solo many times and it includes Mexico both port of Arta and Riviera Maya. I have gone solo to Cuba and Las Vegas I enjoy you going solo as you meet and talk to so many more people. I do exactly what I want exactly what I want and exactly how I want
Estrada
Yes it's amazing , no need to do what you don't want.
Van
I've done a solo trip to Mexico just renting out a room on airbnb, it was a pretty nice trip and if you want you can do some of the excursions. Staying in Cancun proper felt safe around the beaches but going into the city can feel a bit sketchy (wander into the rough areas and you see fully armed military with rifles)
If you're looking for warm weather, short travels and safety I would actually go for Florida! Beautiful, safe and a short flight away.
Trish
Honolulu safe for solo.
