How can I make the most of my trip to Berlin and Venice in mid March?

Make sure if you’re getting trains or public transport to validate your ticket before you travel. I was almost fined in Berlin for having a ticket, but not validating it. You just have to get it stamped in one of the small blue machines dotted around the stations. They’re both great cities, both very different to each other. Enjoy!

Berlin is gigantic and overwhelming. Do your research as to what you want to do/see so that you’re not wandering around like a lost puppy! (Speaking from experience haha
) also it helps to make sure you get detailed directions to and from your accommodations. Getting lost in Berlin OR Venice is a nightmare. And trust me, you WILL get lost in Venice. A little Italian phrase book would not be amiss. Also, when you get to your accommodation, check the bed for bedbugs. I had them in Venice and it was awful. A quick check of all mattress corners is all you need to do! To end on a high note, make sure you eat lots of nougat, gelato, pizza, and seafood when you’re in Venice

In Berlin don’t bother paying for the hop on hop off buses. The first time I went I did this and then learned the 100 and 200 bus covered most of the sites I wanted to see anyway on their regular route. You can buy 1 day, 3 day and 7 day bus tickets and transportation in the city is great. I purchased a cell phone plan at home that gave me limited phone data (500 mb), and used google maps to figure out the transportation. If you don’t have access to google maps it can be challenging because there are buses, U bahn, S bahn and trams operating in the city. Berlin is one of my favorite cities in Europe, so
