I've planned a week in Varadero for May 2017. How far in advance should I book? I am currently seeing costs of about 3700$ AI for 2 adults and a 6 year old. Is this good or will prices be lower if I wait more?
What midrange hotel
Is good and kid friendly? Thank you in advance!!!

I feel like that's too high, especially if you're looking for "midrange". Check redtag.ca for better rates.

I flew to Cayo Santa Maria a year ago, 1 week, all inclusive for $900. 3700 is way too much.

www.tripcentral.ca click on the classic grid. This is my favorite site for comparison. It has all of the vacation companies listed all in one grid

I use it for comparison, but I usually book through the vacation company itself, so I'm not sure if their booking service is good or not.

We do the same, use it to compare, then book directly with the company.

I agree that's quite high, especially since May is off season. I'd wait a few months to book.

I went there at the end of may. I found booking in March was the cheapest and mid range was around 1000 per person.
redtag is great!

Also, a five star in Cuba is a more like a three or four star here. Don't go less than four star.

I keep hearing people saying this but I've been twice and have never gone hungry. Yes, there's food that doesn't look appetizing so I don't eat it but for the most part, I've found it to be not too bad.

^^ Janet -- Hmm, your comment actually makes you agree with my comment. Here's another way to look at it: You have a choice between two five star all inclusive hotels. One is a 9-10 hr destination with a required layover to get there. The flavor is bland, the food isn't that bad, the local beer and liquor are brands you haven't heard of (no bud/coors light) the rooms are so-so and you can't get a thick delicious steak any where on the island. Or you can fly to 5.5 hours no layover, the food is OMG fantastic, the local beer is all brands you get here in Canada), rooms are amazing and if you want your choice of steaks they're all you can eat and thick AAA+ cuts. Price being some what similar, which would you stay at? Cuba sucks.

Planning Your Varadero Vacation: When to Book and Where to Stay

Varadero, Cuba's famous beach resort town, is a popular destination for travelers seeking sun, sand, and relaxation. If you've planned a week-long getaway to Varadero in May 2017, it's crucial to make your bookings well in advance to secure the best rates and availability.

When to Book

Generally, it's recommended to book your Varadero vacation at least six months in advance, especially if you're traveling during the peak season (December to April). However, for travel in May, which falls into the shoulder season, you may be able to find decent deals even if you book a few months out.

As for the cost you mentioned, $3,700 for an all-inclusive package for two adults and one child (age 6) seems reasonable, but there's a possibility that prices could drop slightly if you wait longer. It's a delicate balance between securing your desired accommodations and potentially saving a few dollars by waiting.

Kid-Friendly Midrange Hotel Recommendation

For a midrange, kid-friendly hotel in Varadero, consider the Memories Varadero Beach Resort. This all-inclusive resort offers a variety of amenities suitable for families, including:

  • Multiple swimming pools, including a children's pool
  • Kids' club with supervised activities and entertainment
  • Family-friendly restaurants with child-friendly menus
  • Direct access to the beautiful Varadero beach
  • Spacious rooms with options for family suites

The Memories Varadero Beach Resort consistently receives positive reviews for its family-friendly atmosphere, variety of dining options, and well-maintained facilities. It's a great choice for families seeking a comfortable and enjoyable vacation experience in Varadero.

Remember, booking early can help you secure the best rates and ensure availability at your preferred resort. Happy planning, and enjoy your time in the beautiful Varadero!
