- Clark quay (downtown area)
- take the night cruise by the Clark quay, very scenic

Agree and would add the National Orchid Garden and eat at one of the Hawker Centres (Singapore version of a food court - very popular)

There’s a food shop that has one michelin star at a hawker centre I don’t know where it is but you gotta eat there.

Drink yuen yang which is coffee and tea mixed, eat chili crabs, chicken satay, laksa, lots of good dishes
Public transport is very reliable and convenient

OMG! A total extravagance, but the Sunday champagne brunch at the Ritz Carlton is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!

Also, the orchid garden at the botanical gardens was incredible!

If you want cheap food check out chinatown or the markets! Way cheaper than anything youll find in a restaurant , usually under $4 singapore dollars for a meal.
Only issue is that i think it closes relatively early

If you have a chance and can afford it , a drink at the top of the Marina Bay Sands sands is really cool at night and gives a great view of the city.

Chicken rice, doesnt look or sound like much but it is incredible! Bugis st market, it's a 3 floor indoor shopping / market, food vendors on the main floor! Hawker markets are great places to eat, good prices and lots of choice! Hong Kong soy sauce is the name of the Michelin star chicken rice restaurant, on Smith st. China town and little India also have great markets!

Watch Anthony Bourdain's layover episode. It's an amazing start on where to eat. Make sure chicken rice and chili (or pepper) crab...and hawker stalls are on your list. Be sure to visit Gardens by the Bay to see the interesting way they respect greenery while having such high land-value. The neighbourhood of Tiong Bahru was named the fourth hippest neighourhood in the world by Vogue (WQW was #2). It's a nice place to grab a coffee and wander.

One of my very favourite places to visit.....night food market, Clark's Quay, boat ride down the river. Hoponhopoff bus tour.

Spend extra time checking out Changing airport terminals, especially the new terminal 4, and the food court at that terminal. Don’t rush through it!

Bingo, the airport itself is an attraction. I lived there when there was just barely two terminals. Even then it was super clean and modern

Contrary to popular belief, traveling in Singapore isn’t as expensive as you think. Just like many other countries you visit there are ways around it. Unless you plan on a luxury vacation.
The one thing that people seem to forget is how proud Singaporeans are about their food. A lot of the food markets you see in the Western Nations derive from Singapore’s Hawker stall mentality. Each stall will have a very specific item they sell and are known for. For example, Chicken Rice. It is a rather staple diet in Singaporean cuisine and in general every where you get Chicken Rice is good. Singaporeans are very very picky though and will have their favourites. I personally enjoy Tiong Bahru wet market. It has dramatically changed in terms of the gentrification, it’s cleaned up nicely and there’s an abundance of little independent boutiques as well. The other beautiful thing about dining in Singapore is you can eat 24/7 with way too many variety. Because Singapore is built of 4 major ethnic groups/religions you will find activity all the time. Early mornings, the Malays/Muslim’s will be up cooking a storm, by 7am the hawkers are filled already with morning commuters but mainly the Malay shops where you can simply have a roti with some curry or a rice and veggie dish. Don’t forget to have your morning Kopi
Come Lunch things become more interesting because you have the mix of western cultures with the local delight. The food courts in the large shopping malls are amazing. Honestly it puts a ton of the North American food courts to shame. These food courts are a good start for any traveller to Singapore to get an idea of how the food culture works and the assortments they can get. Newton Circus although quite the tourist trap is a very popular outdoor eatery. Loads of action late night. Lots of Tiger Beer bottles hanging about and of course lots of Chilli Sting Ray.
Aside from food, Little India and Chinatown can be a fun stroll depending on whether there is holidays. If you are a photographer, the Singapore skyline is very sought after so take a walk around the Marina Bay broadwalk, it’s fantastic at night to perhaps walk off all the things you’ve eaten
Raffles Hotel for a Singapore Sling maybe cliche but it’s definitely worth a check if you are into bars and cocktails.
