Uber in Europe is great. We used in Portugal all the time and it’s incredibly cheap and easy. The drivers are a lot nicer than taxi drivers too!! (At least that was our experience)
Bobby
Uber is great in Thailand and Philippines where taxis are complete thieves

We used both Grab and Uber in Singapore and Malaysia. Both were great although Grab seemed a bit cheaper but comparable. Definitely cheaper and nicer than taxi.

We always took cabs or tuktuks in Thailand, Malaysia and Laos but we first verified the cabs were Metered. If they weren't metered we wouldn't get in. The metered cabs are extremely cheap: No meter and you get fleeced!

They rig the meters in Hanoi. Tuk-Tuks don’t have meters and charge twice what Uber does in Chiang Mai. Then in Krabi they give you a price for your destination, get you half way there and when you don’t get out they double or triple the price - turns out they “misunderstold”. Laos they’d fill up the vehicle and charge everyone what you’d agreed on for 2. Still, we felt less screwed in Laos. It’s not that you never get an honest trip but . . . we’re here a lot and it gets old. What seems cheap to you may be triple to 10 times what the locals pay. Uber is effortless, I’d recommend it to everyone.

Which Ride-Hailing Service Do You Use?
When it comes to choosing a ride-hailing service, there are several options available such as Uber, Lyft, Grab, and many others. Each service has its own unique features and benefits, making it a popular choice among users.
Personally, I prefer using Uber over other ride-hailing services. During my travels to Thailand and Vietnam, I encountered several instances where taxi drivers were overcharging and cheating us. This negative experience led me to try Uber, and I found it to be a more reliable and transparent option.
While using Uber, I also learned about the challenges faced by Uber drivers, who are often underpaid for their services. To show my appreciation for their hard work, I make it a point to tip them generously.
Although I have primarily used Uber, I am curious about other ride-hailing services, especially in Europe. Services like Lyft and Grab offer unique features and may provide a different experience compared to Uber. I am interested in exploring these options during my future travels.
Ultimately, the choice of ride-hailing service depends on individual preferences and experiences. It is important to consider factors such as pricing, availability, and quality of service when selecting a ride-hailing service that best suits your needs.

Uber, lyft, grab . . . others?
Which do you use, if any, and why? We use Uber because the taxis in Thailand and Vietnam were cheating us so badly. I understand they’re (Uber drivers) underpaid so we tip.
Im curious about the others, especially in Europe.
