I suggest staying in the general area of Monti - so many places to stay restaurants etc, hard to recommend any one specifically. We have visited and stayed in Rome 4 times, but always got an apt because we did extended stays. Monti area is easy to walk to many sites and Rome buses are easy to use Here is a booking.com look at some in the area. https://www.booking.com/searchresults.en-gb.html...

A couple of things about booking Hotels in Europe, don't assume the free wi-fi is in the room, often it is in the lobby; likewise with breakfast, don't assume you get breakfast at the hotel, often it will be at an adjacent property or at a restaurant close by. Breakfast included are most often a European style, with cold cuts, cheeses, cold cereals, various breads and pastries, yogurts, fruits, juices and coffee. Bacon and egg type of breakfasts are hard to come by. You often will have a charge of 15 plus Euros $23 per person for this breakfast - This may not be worth it to you to have it included in your hotel room choice. Typical Roman breakfast is a "caffè e pasticceria" coffee and pastry, for about $6

Check to ensure hotels have elevators if that is an issue for you, many hotels do not, especially the less expensive ones, and lugging bags up 2 or three flights of stairs is not fun. I tend to contact accommodations directly to specifically ask all the questions

Going to Rome in the fall pre cruise and looking for a nice, reasonably priced, and centrally located hotel that includes breakfast and wifi for 3 nights... perhaps a bar/lounge.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
