The Marienplatz in Munich is really cool. If you're into architecture and history there is a ton in just a couple block radius of there.

Charlott awesome thank you, it's definitely on our list!

Sheshleen Datt there's a huge church near by that you can go up in the tower and get a bird's eye view of the city. Can't remember the name though

In regards to the currency,
I’ve been to Munich and Venice recently and credit card acceptance is almost universal.
It also usually gives you the best exchange rate, especially if you use a card without FX fees, and make sure you select EUR and not CAD on the terminal.
Not as sure about Croatia or Turkey.

Eric Thanks so much!! This is really good to know.

Munich old town Center must eat at The Donisl. Best schnitzel of my life and I grew up eating my moms who cooked in a German restaurant here in vancouver. And the warm potatoe salad with it. OMG
Sheshlee
Jeannette P Gallant added to our list! Thnx!!

In Munich check out any of the bier gartens. One right up the road from munchen hbf called Augustiner-Keller. All the bier gartens are cool tho.
Get off the tourist strips for Food.
Cotidiano is an awesome breakfast place, not far from Marienplatz.

When I went to Munich for Oktoberfest, I took one day off the beer and celebrations and went to Dachau(the first concentration camp of the Nazi regime). It’s a pretty powerful place. It’s only a short 15 min train ride away.
Sheshlee
Jamie I had read about this. I'm hoping we have time to fit this in.

Its hard to fit everything in, I know! Munich is a great city. I missed my train to Prague because I stayed too long in Dachau. So much to learn and take in. All the best on your travels

Travel Tips
When traveling to different countries with different currencies, it's always a good idea to exchange some money beforehand or use a credit card that doesn't charge foreign transaction fees. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the exchange rates and have a mix of cash and cards for convenience.
