We spoke to our waiter at our hotel and he set us up with a taxi cab friend of his and he drove us to all the tourist spots.Paid half to get to Havana and the other half to get back and we got to come and go at our own pace. That was about 14 years ago mind you. But definitely chat with people that work at the resort.

We got one from the life guard at our hotel he took us on his day off in a 55 Chevy ..just ask at your hotel

Just returned from Cuba today. We were quoted 150 CUC ($200 CAD) for a private day tour. Can be arranged at most hotels. Make sure to get someone knowledgable on their history and the city landmarks or bring a good guide book as there is so much history. Definitely agree on the departure times leaving both Varadero and Havana. It's about 2hours in each direction and most privates prefer to leave Havana at 4pm for the drive to Varadero.

We had our tour with Yosel!
So amazing and was the highlight of our trip. Going private is the best way to really SEE Havana. Contact him, you won't be sorry!

Ask your bellman at the hotel. They usually know someone that will be a private tour guide for you and take you. The prices are reasonable and their old Chevys are amazing. Price should be under 120 USD for the day.
