In our opinion, you need at least 3 days in Porto. Be sure to walk everywhere! Also take in an all day Douro cruise if you can. Incredible!

Should You Visit Porto, Portugal?

Porto, Portugal is a beautiful city located along the Douro River in the northern part of the country. Known for its stunning architecture, delicious food, and of course, Port wine, Porto is definitely worth a visit during your time in Portugal.

How Many Days Should You Spend in Porto?

While the amount of time you spend in Porto ultimately depends on your travel preferences and schedule, we recommend spending at least 2-3 days in the city to fully experience all that it has to offer. This will give you enough time to explore the historic Ribeira district, visit the famous Livraria Lello bookstore, and take a boat tour along the Douro River.

Additionally, Porto is known for its delicious food scene, so be sure to take the time to enjoy a traditional Portuguese meal at one of the many local restaurants. And of course, no trip to Porto would be complete without a visit to one of the many Port wine cellars for a tasting.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, if you're visiting Portugal, we highly recommend checking out Porto. With its rich history, stunning architecture, and delicious food and wine, Porto is sure to be a highlight of your trip. Plan to spend at least 2-3 days in the city to fully experience all that it has to offer.
