We stayed at Frankie's Nola Place. https://www.google.ca/search?q=frankies%20nola&ie=UTF-8...
Very neat place and loved the location. Hit up Drago's Seafood Restaurant for charbroiled oysters. Willie Mae's for fried chicken https://www.google.ca/search...
And of course and of course Cafe du Monde for beignets and coffee. At least, we enjoyed these places!

Cheryl Frankie's sounds great! Was it as convenient ( walking distance) to all of the things that it's description says it is? I need 3 bedrooms. Any preferences in their units?

Loved love loved the location, like two blocks to Frenchman street and not far to everything else. There was also a good breakfast place down in the other direction that we discovered on our last day. We walked everywhere, but should have taken a cab to Wilkie Mae's, that was further than expected. I think we were in his biggest unit, but not 100% sure. It had two bedroom and my sis got to hold down the sofa. Even if you don't stay at Frankie's and find something similar, I do recommend the location. The area is called Marigny I believe.

Oh! So there is a raised cemetery with some famous voodoo person interred in it that costs money and they make you do a guided tour.
If you just want to see a raised cemetary(which are totally cool), just go across the street and there is one that is open and free. Can see it in 10 minutes and get an idea for it.

If you can go visit the Whitney Plantation. Found this place doesn't sugarcoat or romanticize the slavery part of plantation life. It was an eye opening experience.
