I had a DUI in 2000 and have traveled extensively throughout US and no issues. It is not something you need a pardon for. Only one time did I get any hassle and that was in Calgary airport and got brought into customs office for 20 mins. Just be honest with any questions they ask

Right not entirely true however a DUI is a felony in Canada. Ergo Americans with a DUI on their record can have a lot of trouble getting into Canada.

They can decide for any criminal conviction to not let you in. You will clear customs here. I know many that have never had an issue with a DUI.

I know a police officer that was detained for an hour at the border.....and they were just going skiing. They don't have to let anyone if they don't want to.

Our son had a DUI...not proud of that but he did learn from it...he was 21 but has never had problems going to the US...not sure about other countries

I have a friend whose his had a dui from 35 yrs ago, touched down in Hawaii, and was promptly put on a plane back.to YYC citimg.they have their own criminals and don't need ours. He was refused entry.

It depends on the officer on any given day. They can refuse you entry but probably won't. Canada has stricter rules as far as DUI. Good luck!

My partner has a DUI on his record. We travel regularly, and so far we have been lucky (knock on wood) and have had no problems. Just be honest and clear if you are asked. But chances are you will breeze right through customs!
We have flown to Japan via the USA, Europe via USA, and again no problems!

Definitely do it in an RV. Do not use a company called kiwi Campers or Happy Campers. They are awful and their customer service is worse.
