Yes at heathrow you actually do go through security a second time. If you happen to buy duty free in YVR ask them to seal it in the security bag as you are going through heathrow.
I don't know about lounges. I just shop. And remember, it can sometimes take a long time to cross terminal 3 with security and distance

...and it can't be anything liquidy as they will confiscate it. They have much stricter checks through security, you do have to have your cosmetics in a plastic bag, while you don't in CAN and the US. These days London is incredibly strict at checkpoints at the airport. Heathrow is a huge airport - it takes time to move between terminals.

Thank you I know Heathrow is a huge airport. I’ve been it’s just been a few years. I know I have enough time but I also wanted peoples opinions on lounges. I will have a short flight after London arriving at my final destination at around the 10pm. I won’t probably eat anything when I arrive as it will be late. Hence the reason why I asked about the lounges

We were thru last fall, if I remember rightly there were two lounges one called Club something and one called ?No 1 I think - they were about $40 at that time for a 3 hour stay

Layover at London Heathrow Terminal 3 (LHR)
You mentioned that you're flying from Vancouver (YVR) to London Heathrow (LHR) on December 19, arriving at Terminal 3 at 2:30 PM, and your connecting flight with British Airways departs from the same terminal at 7:15 PM. Here's what you need to know:
Security Check
Since you're arriving and departing from the same terminal, you won't need to go through security again. However, it's always a good idea to factor in some extra time for potential queues or any unexpected delays.
Airport Lounges at Terminal 3
As a British Airways passenger, you may have access to one of the following lounges at Terminal 3, depending on your ticket class or frequent flyer status:
- British Airways Galleries Lounge: This is the main BA lounge at Terminal 3, offering complimentary food, drinks, Wi-Fi, and other amenities.
- British Airways Galleries First Lounge: If you're traveling in First Class or hold a higher-tier BA status, you can access this exclusive lounge with enhanced offerings.
- British Airways Galleries Club Lounge: This lounge is available for BA Club World (business class) passengers and Silver/Gold Executive Club members.
It's recommended to check your eligibility and access details with British Airways before your flight.
Dining Options at Terminal 3
Terminal 3 at Heathrow offers a variety of dining options to suit different tastes and budgets. Here are a few recommended places:
- Giraffe: A family-friendly restaurant offering a mix of international dishes and British classics.
- Plane Food: A popular spot for grab-and-go sandwiches, salads, and other light meals.
- Wagamama: A casual Asian-inspired restaurant chain serving noodle dishes, curries, and more.
- Gordon Ramsay Plane Food: For a more upscale dining experience, check out this restaurant by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
Remember to factor in enough time to relax, grab a bite, or explore the various shops and amenities at Terminal 3 during your layover.

Dumb question but I leave YVR December 19 to LHR my flight arrives at 230pm I believe it’s terminal 3 and my connection leaves from terminal 3 I think at 715pm both on british airways. Do I have to go thru security again and what’s the best lounge or dinning in terminal 3?.
