Hi everyone! Going to Portland,

Beast and El Gaucho are pretty good too for a splurge dinner. Screen door was memorable. Nong Khao Man Gai for casual. However cannot go wrong with Pok Pok. Probably our best meal in Portland. I second the recommendation for the Woodburn outlets as without sales tax some steals are to be had. Use a border free credit card and be aware to add 2-3% on top of the exchange if your not.

Washington Square is great for shopping! Cheese Factory is there. Or something simple Red Robin Restaurant.

Red Robin and Cheescake Factory??? Eew really?? Why not suggest Mcdonalds and Applebees while your at it. Portland actually has some pretty awesome food. Avoid the chains.

Fay. Suck it up buttercup. It wasn't a personal attack on you. People are free to comment and debate the validity of advice given based on personal opinion. If your taste in food is pedestrian and manga cake so be it.

It's called convenience. Especially if you are on a shopping spree...Food to try are the food carts. And McD's isn't bad either...

Red Robin and Cheescake Factory are not food carts. It would be like someone saying where are some good Chinese restaurants in Richmond and someone recommending fortune wok in a food court
cuz of convenience. (though Richmond has some pretty amazing food court food). We went on a crazy shopping spree but didn't have to sacrifice our health or taste like sheep and eat garbage.

Pioneer District is great to walk around. Look up ... some cool architecture. Another shopping mall is Pioneer Square. Saturday Market. Check out the free transit system that takes you around the downtown area.

We stayed in the NW are of the "alphabet " streets at the Silver Cloud inn. So happy we were not right downtown. The are has lots of great shopping and cafes and easily walk anywhere or just the steeet cars for free. So many brew pubs etc. Go to @voodoo donuts

We stayed at a very funky airbnb just down the block from the Silver Cloud. Kind of on the edge of a light industrial district, but also just a couple of blocks walk to a very hipster section of NW23rd. Toney and Mimi were great hosts. https://www.airbnb.ca/rooms/15408554?guests=2&adults=2&location=Portland%2C%20OR%2C%20United%20States&check_in=2017-09-19&check_out=2017-09-21&s=9Wt0Rvtm

Pine State Biscuits, if dieting isn't on your mind at all.
Also, SE Division and SE Hawthorne have some great shops. Tons of boutiques and quirky stores. Portland has some of the best thrift stores I've ever seen, in case that's your thing.

If you like Korean food Du Kuh Bee in Beaverton is well worth the trip. It's a hole in the wall place with fabulous hand pulled noodles and handmade pork dumplings. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Du-Kuh-Bee/120288801316189

Pok pok (if you like meat, have their chicken wings-- it's sn absolute must!) But they get SUPER busy, so be prepared to wait, or you can do take out. Pine state biscuits is fantastic, so is mother's bistro for breakfast! Woodburn outlets never disappoint. I've always found great deals! Have fun, portland is awesome. Oh, and we stayed in the Benson, which is pretty cool!
