Exercise common sense, be very protective of your belongings especially when using the metro. Don't bring too many expensive items / jewelleries that you don't need.......other than that, it's just like any other big cities on this planet.
There are at least 2 good rooftop bars and restaurants right by Zocalo square that would be good places to hang out, the anthropology museum is very impressive, and the little park by museo Bella artes is worth checking out during the day, walking distance from Zocalo square. Barrio Chino (Chinatown) is right across from the park by art museum, and that's worth a quick look as well. Churros and hot chocolate at El Moro's, classic combo and must do while in CDMX! It's also within walking distance from Chinatown. These should keep you busy for the time while you're there.

I stayed at the Hotel Casa Blanca for 4 nights last year around this time. Clean, safe and cheap. Close to everything and has a roof top pool. I think it was like $10Cad to get to the airport via uber, but its also close to the subway.

I stay at the Friends/Quaker center. Cheap/very basic/they speak English and are helpful/right in the heart of the historic area so you can walk every where/safe/helps support the center who are supporting programs for locals. You can book on line.

One Night in Mexico City
One Night in Mexico City
Mexico City is a vast and vibrant metropolis, with something to offer everyone. But if you only have one night to spend in the city, what should you do?
Here are a few recommendations:
- Visit the Zócalo. The Zócalo is the heart of Mexico City, and it's home to some of the city's most iconic buildings, including the Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Palace. Take a walk around the plaza, admire the architecture, and soak up the atmosphere.
- Take a stroll down Paseo de la Reforma. Paseo de la Reforma is one of Mexico City's most famous streets, and it's lined with beautiful buildings, monuments, and sculptures. Take a walk down the street, enjoy the sights, and maybe stop for a coffee or a meal at one of the many cafes and restaurants.
- Visit the Frida Kahlo Museum. Frida Kahlo is one of Mexico's most famous artists, and her museum is a must-visit for any fan of her work. The museum houses a collection of her paintings, drawings, and other personal belongings, and it offers a glimpse into her life and work.
- Have dinner at a traditional Mexican restaurant. Mexico City is home to some of the best Mexican food in the world, so make sure to have dinner at a traditional restaurant. There are many great options to choose from, so ask your hotel concierge for recommendations.
Of course, these are just a few suggestions. There are many other things to see and do in Mexico City, so you can customize your itinerary to fit your interests.
