Chefchaouen is amazing! Spent a few days there, Only spent 24 hours in Casablanca and felt like that was enough. I arrived from Spain through Tangiers and didn't spend any time there. Really enjoyed my time in Essaouria on the west coast. Don't have much experience staying in Riads, but ended up booking the hostels/Riad a few days in advance before showing up in the city.

Gord. Did you find a particular site helpful for booking hostels/riads? Riadsmorocco.com I found expensive, and Agoda.com wasn't any better. Some of the Riads listed in LP don't even have websites... Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Am travelling to Morocco in the next few weeks. I am wondering - we do not have a set timeline for how many days we will be in each city - if riads are generally cheaper to book either a couple days in advance once itinerary is known or just being in the city and finding one?
I have done research and know that the tour guides have 'agreements' with some riads, but I mean more so if we find our own. Suggestions? Recommendations?
Tentative itinerary: Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Fez, Marrakech and possibly stops in Chefhaouen and Meknes.
