"Travel valid October 1 - December 15, 2016" also only from Edmonton and Toronto. And 499* from Edmonton.

I checked Vancouver and found return flights as early as late August for around $478 return on certain days. You just have to do some research playing around with dates.

Might be worth flying to London then Iceland? http://yvrdeals.com/one-way-deal-vancouver-to-london-uk...

Jon
Yes. I had looked into it and probably would have jumped on it but my dates can't flex that much.

We flew to New York and then to Iceland with icelandair. They are definitely the cheapest. We flew with them on to Denmark. You might be able to get a long stop over??? Bit July and August are the popular months for Iceland travel so it will be the more expensive time to fly. It's an expensive country in all ways. But worth it!

A search on google flights turned up a one-way ticket from YVR-KEF (via Edmonton), leaving August 10 for $687. That's the best I was able to find.

It can be booked through icelandair's site.

Thanks everyone for your input. I might just have to bite the bullet.

many times a sale on a round trip fare is cheaper than one way, don't forget

Iceland Flight Deals: How to Find Cheap One-Way Tickets
Iceland is a popular tourist destination, but finding affordable one-way flights can be a challenge, especially during peak season. If you're planning a trip to Iceland in mid-August, don't despair. Here are some tips on how to find the best deals:
1. Be flexible with your travel dates
Traveling on weekdays or during the off-season can often save you money. If you can, try to book your flight for a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. You may also want to consider flying in the early or late summer to avoid the high prices of the peak season.
2. Sign up for airline alerts
Many airlines offer email alerts that will notify you when sales or discounts are announced. Signing up for these alerts can help you stay informed about the latest deals.
3. Check for student or senior discounts
Some airlines offer discounts for students and seniors. If you're eligible, be sure to ask about these discounts when you book your flight.
4. Consider flying into a different city
If you're flying from a major city, you may be able to find cheaper flights by flying into a smaller city. For example, flying into Reykjavik (KEF) can be more expensive than flying into Akureyri (AEY).
5. Look for error fares
Error fares are mistakes made by airlines that result in tickets being sold at much lower prices than normal. These fares are usually only available for a short period of time, so it's important to act quickly if you see one.
6. Consider flying through a different city
If you're flying from a city that doesn't have direct flights to Iceland, you may be able to save money by flying through a different city. For example, flying from New York to Reykjavik through London can be cheaper than flying direct.
7. Be patient
Finding the best flight deals can take time and effort. Don't get discouraged if you don't find the perfect deal right away. Keep searching and comparing prices, and eventually you'll find the best deal for your budget.
Here are some additional tips that may be helpful:
- Use a flight search engine to compare prices from different airlines.
- Check the airline's website directly to see if they have any special offers or discounts.
- Follow the airline on social media to stay informed about sales and promotions.
- Be prepared to book your flight as soon as you find a good deal.
With a little planning and effort, you can find affordable one-way flights to Iceland in mid-August. Just be sure to be flexible with your travel dates and consider all of the options available to you.

My apologies if this has been touched on elsewhere. I am looking to book a ticket to Iceland in mid August - one way. One ways are absurdly expensive though. Has anyone flown this time of year to Iceland before? Did any sales pop up? I've been seeing the round trip deals from Edmonton and Toronto but a) they are Edmonton and Toronto and b) don't fit my timeline.
Any thoughts or has anyone seen super cheap European tickets where I can transfer? I did see the London deal but … See more
