Grand Sirenis, Mayan Rivieria. Great family resort. Went there with a group of 16 a fee years ago, with kids ages 4 to 20. Everyone had a great time, including a few off site excursions

I highly recommend a baby club.... when we went my daughter was able to nap .there while my husband and I had time by the adult pool.... .they give a beeper so you are never out of reach

Go somewhere close to home. The toddler won't remember the trip; taking them out of routine with different food and climate is an expensive stressor for your child. Taking off and landing provides a special pain for your baby that they are too little to understand and fix. Wait a couple of years to take your children on an airplane.

Go where you want to go. At that age any family time is worth it. Peru. Mexico. Europe lots of options. If you train your kids now to get on flights you’ll never have an issue again. But comforts from home for the trip like favorited snacks and get somewhere where you have access to a pool/water fun.

Hawaii is amazing, I would highly recommend the big island. We have gone the past 3 years for 2-3 week periods and my kids are 3 and 19 months. If you want more information please pm me

Couldn't agree more! I've been to Hawaii with a 3-year-old and a 6-month-old. It was very manageable and also really fun.
Patti
Maui for sure
Celine
With up to 3 weeks, you really could choose anywhere! Europe is wonderful in April! The flight is longer, but Japan is amazing with kids.
Bailey
Great time of year to travel to Europe. If you’re comfortable with renting a car I would highly recommend driving around Scotland. We went only for a week but there is SO much more to see.

I can’t remember how long the flight was but it was direct from LA - to the Cook Islands - super friendly people and felt really safe .. my little one could walk around a beach all day , she loves it
Lindsay
We just returned from the Cook Islands. It was 9.5 hours from LA. We had kids (4 and 6) with us and they did great. Air NZ was incredible.
Sarah
We went to Costa Rica, Ireland, Mexico, and Hawaii with babe. All were great. As someone else said, best to bring a suitcase with snacks from home
Laurie

Family Travel Destination for April
Traveling with young children can be a challenging yet rewarding experience. When you're looking for a destination suitable for a 3-year-old toddler and a 5-month-old infant, it's essential to strike a balance between cultural immersion, kid-friendly activities, and ease of transportation. Fortunately, there are several destinations within an 8-hour flight range that fit the bill.
Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona is a fantastic option for a family vacation in April. With its mild Mediterranean climate, you'll enjoy pleasant temperatures perfect for outdoor exploration. The city offers a rich cultural heritage, with iconic landmarks like the Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, and Las Ramblas, providing a glimpse into Catalan architecture and history.
For your toddler, Barcelona boasts numerous kid-friendly attractions, including the Barcelona Aquarium, the Barcelona Zoo, and the Ciutadella Park, which features playgrounds and plenty of open spaces for running and exploring. Additionally, the city's public transportation system, including buses and metro, makes getting around with a stroller relatively easy.
Lisbon, Portugal
Lisbon, the vibrant capital of Portugal, is another excellent choice for a family trip in April. Known for its charming neighborhoods, historic attractions, and delectable cuisine, Lisbon offers a blend of culture and family-friendly activities.
Your 3-year-old will delight in visiting the Oceanário de Lisboa, one of the largest aquariums in Europe, and the Pavilhão do Conhecimento, an interactive science museum. The city's iconic trams and funiculars are not only convenient for getting around but also a fun experience for little ones. Additionally, Lisbon's mild spring weather and pedestrian-friendly streets make it easy to explore with an infant.
San Diego, California
If you prefer a destination within the United States, San Diego, California, is an excellent choice. With its sunny weather, beautiful beaches, and numerous family-friendly attractions, San Diego offers a perfect blend of relaxation and entertainment.
The world-famous San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park are must-visits for your toddler, providing up-close encounters with a wide variety of animals. The Balboa Park area is also a playground for kids, with museums, gardens, and playgrounds galore. For your infant, the gentle waves and soft sand at beaches like La Jolla Cove and Coronado Beach provide a serene environment for relaxation.
Whichever destination you choose, remember to pack essentials for your little ones, plan your activities around their nap schedules, and embrace the adventure of exploring a new place as a family. Happy travels!

Looking to travel somewhere in April for 2-3 weeks with a 3 year old and a 5 month old. Would like a bit of culture but still enough for a toddler to do and easy enough to get around with an infant. Ideally the flight would be 8 hours or less. Any suggestions?
