Cathy
I don't know about any deals, but I do know that Grenada is one of my favourite islands. It's more interesting and diverse than many. It's the spice island.
Gelous
pretty sure you can find a cruise that includes Grenada too
Wayne
recommend a cruise & check out some islands (hotels, prices, etc)
Wayne
Is a great island!!
Marjolei
Jamaica is not too badly priced, if you fly with sunwing (on Mondays) or air transat (on Thursdays )
You're looking at the Family Day week though, when the kids are off, so prices are probably higher than a week earlier or later .
Chris
Except you can't leave the resort in Jamaica if it's dark or without a body guard
Marjolei
Nonsens. We stayed in a non AI in Negril a few years ago and walked everywhere , even in the dark. We didn't encounter any problems whatsoever .
Lorrein
There is some sales here (http://www.selloffvacations.com/Cheap-Last-Minute...). Cayo coco in Cuba is beautiful.
Sherryl
I love Grenada. Yes, all day traveling to get there but worth it to me.
Marjolei
How much was the deal for?
Sarah
Cayman Islands!
Amanda
Grenada is such a beautiful island. Locals are super friendly and hardly any crime.

Tropical Getaway: Finding the Perfect Destination
Ah, the lure of tropical paradise! Escaping the winter chill and basking in the warmth of sun-kissed beaches and swaying palm trees is a dream for many of us. Your search for a tropical destination from February 11-16 that isn't Mexico is an exciting one, and there are plenty of options to explore.
The Allure of Grenada
You've already stumbled upon Grenada, a gem in the Caribbean Sea, and it's certainly worth considering. Known as the "Spice Isle," Grenada boasts stunning beaches, lush rainforests, and a rich cultural heritage. Here are a few highlights that make Grenada an enticing choice:
- Grand Anse Beach: This two-mile stretch of pristine white sand and turquoise waters is a true tropical paradise. Relax, soak up the sun, or indulge in water sports like snorkeling and sailing.
- Waterfalls and Nature Trails: Venture into the island's interior and explore cascading waterfalls, hiking trails, and breathtaking vistas. The Grand Etang National Park is a must-visit for nature lovers.
- Vibrant Culture: Grenada's rich history and cultural influences from Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean blend seamlessly, offering a unique experience. Explore the colorful capital of St. George's, visit spice estates, and immerse yourself in the island's vibrant arts and music scene.
Alternative Tropical Destinations
While Grenada is a fantastic option, there are other tropical destinations worth considering as well. Here are a few alternatives that might pique your interest:
- Dominican Republic: Known for its stunning beaches, lively nightlife, and vibrant culture, the Dominican Republic is a popular Caribbean destination. Punta Cana and Puerto Plata are two regions that offer a wide range of resorts and activities.
- Costa Rica: This Central American gem is a nature lover's paradise, boasting lush rainforests, pristine beaches, and an abundance of wildlife. Explore the stunning Manuel Antonio National Park, surf the waves in Tamarindo, or relax in the laid-back town of Monteverde.
- Jamaica: Reggae, jerk chicken, and stunning beaches are just a few reasons to visit Jamaica. From the lively Negril and Montego Bay to the tranquil Port Antonio, Jamaica offers a diverse array of experiences for every traveler.
- Puerto Rico: As a U.S. territory, Puerto Rico offers a unique blend of Caribbean and American cultures. Explore the vibrant capital of San Juan, relax on the stunning beaches of Culebra and Vieques, and indulge in delicious Puerto Rican cuisine.
Remember, your ideal destination will depend on your travel preferences, budget, and the experiences you're seeking. Whether you choose Grenada or venture to another tropical paradise, the key is to immerse yourself in the local culture, savor the flavors, and create lasting memories.
Safe travels and enjoy your tropical getaway!

Hey guys! Wondering if any of you can help out... I'm looking to go somewhere Tropical that's NOT Mexico from February 11-16... The cheapest flights anywhere I could find were to Grenada in the Caribbean. I'm definitely looking into that but wondering if anyone has seen any deals / has any recommendations? Is Grenada nice? Is there a better place to head to? I've been stalking the yycdeals page for the past 2 weeks to no avail - so hoped I could get some help from this lovely group of fellow travellers!
Thanks!
