Bernard you just do multi destination search on google flight, and then it will direct you to the united website

Melissa..i tried to but it looks like if you stop in any of the island on the island hopper route it will become ridicoulsy expensive...

Most of these layovers are over night though...
Melissa
It says K on the itin.
Melissa
50% for most programs, I think.

May I ask so what's the point if the layovers are basically overnight and less than 24 hrs only? It's just like a ridiculously long way to go do a trip to stay in Tokyo for 6 days.
Melissa
Because it's fun? I do trips to Asia like this all the time. Most of my trips involve 1-3 nights per city. I went to Beijing for two days last week.

This routing works on a lot of dates, (e.g. Sep 2015) and the final destination can be some other asian cities as well. (e.g. Hong Kong). For Honolulu, and Guam, you need to have a layover that's below 24 hours. However, for the Japan layover, you can be there for a few days with just an additional CAD100 in most cases.

Maximizing Stopovers with United Airlines
If you're a savvy traveler looking to explore multiple destinations without breaking the bank, United Airlines' routing system can be your best friend. Recently, I booked a trip to Shanghai for next year with multiple stopovers – in Honolulu, Guam, and Tokyo – for a mere CAD 1018. Considering that a direct flight ticket to Guam from Toronto typically costs over CAD 2000, this routing presents an excellent opportunity to visit the island on a budget.
The key to unlocking this cost-saving strategy lies in the stopover durations. While United allows stopovers, there's a catch – your stay at each stopover location cannot exceed 24 hours. In my case, if I had chosen to stay in Guam for more than 24 hours, the total fare would have jumped to over CAD 3,000, effectively negating the savings.
So, if you're keen on exploring multiple destinations without breaking the bank, consider booking a multi-stop itinerary with United Airlines. However, be mindful of the 24-hour stopover limit and plan your adventures accordingly.
Here are a few tips to help you make the most of this routing strategy:
- Explore nearby cities or attractions during your brief stopovers.
- Pack light and travel with just a carry-on to avoid the hassle of checking in and retrieving luggage at each stop.
- Research the local transportation options at your stopover destinations to maximize your time.
- Stay hydrated and well-rested to enjoy each leg of your journey.
With a little planning and flexibility, you can turn a single flight into an unforgettable multi-destination adventure without breaking the bank. Happy travels!

Looks like United is pretty flexible in terms of routing sometimes. Just booked my trip to Shanghai next year with a stop over in Honolulu, Guam and Tokyo for 1018 CAD. Flight ticket to Guam typically costs CAD 2000+ from Toronto, so if you want to visit there, perhaps this is the cheaper way to do so. But the trick is that you could not stop over in Guam for more than 24 hours (the price would be changed to CAD 3,000+ if I stay there for more than 24 hours in this case). Yo… See more
