Hoi An is a must - stay at the Green Apple if you want clean and affordable. Phu Quoc is amazing. It's a wonderful country but be careful of your cell phone and personal belongings. My advice would be to take intra-Viet Nam flights rather than sleeper bus. You can email me if you want specific information - we were there a year ago and I would go back in a heartbeat. Saigon is crazy busy but got a great vibe - the War Remnants museum is a must.

Loooooved Vietnam! Ive been to 27 countries and vietnam is in my top two!!! Check out halong bay - i stayed at cat ba island. I did Vietnam on a motorbike starting in hanoi and going to ho chi minh. Going to non touristy towns was life-changing. Itll be an eyeopening experience for your daughter which will be wonderful!

We stayed for a month. Its a thing that backpackers do. Buying a bike in either hanoi or ho chi minh and selling it after arriving in the other city. The driving was intense and very scary at times but the experience was amazing

Because we had the motorbikes we were able to go to towns that tourists dont. My top experiences were in those small towns. The people were friendly, and theyve rarely seen white people. We would have to go to a mechanic and the whole town would come out and just stand and watch us. Offer us food and inviting us in

Here is a more long form answer since I now have more time: Spend 3 nights in Hanoi, definitely stay at the Splendora Hotel, great place, amazing staff and they will pick you up at the airport. Do a street food tour. Do an overnight cruise of Ha Long Bay, don't cheap out, make sure you get a nicer
. PM me for a good travel agent there that can book this for you. Then if you like hiking don't miss Sapa. You can do a tour or on your own. Fly or train down to Hoi An, if flying, fly into Danang, then taxi to Hoi An. Stay at the Prince hotel in Hoi An. Then train to Nah Tran. End in Saigon. Make sure you see the Chu Chi tunnels.
