Sometimes better off to use ATM card in US to withdraw cash .

You usually get the best rate through your bank.
Call your bank and see which banks in Canada they have partnerships with because if you needs a pullout more money you can save a lot by using a preferred bank.
I also suggest calling your credit cards and seen what they charge for foreign-currency in case you need to use a credit card in a pinch you know which one has the best rates associated with foreign currency.

Bank rates are terrible compared to vbce and places like Charlie's or Happy Currency. RBC's rate today is 1.3066 vs vbce's rate of 1.285.
Lauren
Sorry I miss read I thought they were coming from the US to CA.
But it depends on the bank and the checking account you have. RBC has a premier transfer rate on some accounts.
Janine
Happy Currency will match vbce's rates too. Best rate though is with a chase credit card - practically zero markup. Amazon offers one with no annual fee.

Vancouver Bullion is my go to place.
Karen
I check the rates of at least 3 places before making the exchange.

Charlie's currency exchange on Granville is good too.

If you are with coast capital they will match any posted rate. vbce is better rates than most banks etc but bad location. got ticket for parking in back but like I said coast will match rates
Patrick
There are a few locations... downtown, Granville Street, and Richmond... as far as I know.

Best Ways to Exchange Canadian Currency to US
There are a few different ways to exchange Canadian currency to US, and the best method for you will depend on your individual circumstances. Here are a few of the most common options:
- Banks
- Currency exchange services
- Online currency exchange services
Banks typically offer competitive exchange rates, but they may charge a fee for the transaction. You can exchange currency at any bank branch, but it's a good idea to call ahead to confirm the rates and fees.
Currency exchange services are businesses that specialize in exchanging currency. They typically offer lower exchange rates than banks, but they may charge a higher fee. You can find currency exchange services in most major cities.
Online currency exchange services allow you to exchange currency online. They typically offer the most competitive exchange rates, but they may charge a fee for the transaction. You can find online currency exchange services by searching online.
Here are a few tips for getting the best exchange rate:
* Compare rates from different providers before you exchange your currency.
* Exchange larger amounts of currency at a time.
* Avoid exchanging currency at airports or hotels, as they typically offer the worst exchange rates.
I hope this helps!
