What are the must-dos in Cartagena, Medellin, and Bogota for a two-week trip in April?

Spent a week in Bogotá. Must sees are the Gold Museum, “old” town square, go up the mountain on the venicular (sp?) for an incredible view. There are a few museums and art galleries to see if you are into that. I can’t remember the names tho

Comuna 13 tour via the Tucan cafe in Medellin was my highlight of that city. Also take a bus to guatape where you can get dropped off at El Peñol and climb the massive rock. From there a quick rickshaw trip into Guatape (the most colourful town in Colombia) when you’re done.
Make sure you spend serious time in the Getsamani neighbourhood in Cartagena. The plaza de Trinidad is a nightly hot spot. And eat pizza! It’s amazing!!

Book hotels with rooftop pools in Cartagena. IMO. El Piñol for sure. Love Colombia!

Rosie do you recommend to stay in the old city in Cartagena or the new part (not sure what it’s called but has more skyscrapers/newer buildings)

There's better access to beaches in the new area. But if you're doing day trips out to nicer beaches then I'd say the old town is great. Better night life and cuter. But id recommend rooftop pools in most areas as there are many and that way you can escape the streets and enjoy without having to worry about your stuff being stolen. That being said, I felt very safe the whole time I was in Colombia.

- La catedral de Sal
- Plaza de Bolivar
- Centro histórico (downtown)
- Monserrate
- Jardín Botánico
- Plaza de Paloquemao. (try all kind of exotic fruits of Colombia)
- Visit any Juan Valdez cafe
- Breakfast at La Puerta Falsa
Remember to bring a rain coat. April is one of the rainiest months!

Must go in Cartagena: Cafe del mar, Museo del cacao (free), portal de los dulces (all these are inside the wall)
In Medellin you can take a city tour to know the city better (really good) and a day trip tour to Guatape (this town is beautiful and unique). This is the link:

You must try: arepa, almojabana, pan de bono. You can find them in every bakery. Don't forget to try some fruits: lulo (ask for juice of it), granadilla, uchuva and guayaba.
When you go to Medellin, don't forget to try the traditional Bandeja Paisa.
If you have time you should go to Santa Fé de Antioquia. It is a colorful town, with lots of places to visit.
