I did some research on trip advisor a couple years ago. There were some recommendations noted there.

Our family went to Beijing, Xian, and Yangshuo this year over spring break. We had an awesome trip, largely because of our excellent tour guides, found on tripadvisor. Check out these links for Vivie Pan and Michael Yang.

Wild China was fantastic! Not cheap, but put together a custom trip for me and my dad that was unique and appropriate to our interests. Guides were all lovely.

Excellent Beijing tour guide. I have used her for new teachers going to work in China and then last Feb. For a trip with my husband and 2 adult kids. Once again terrific. Linda Zheng [email protected]. Www.pekinglindatour.com. Then we went to Guilin, took the boat to Yanshao, had a terrific cooking class, continued on to Guangzhou. Loved the tour company arranging this trip China Highlights. Nancy Deng was our agent. [email protected]

Exploring China with English-speaking Private Guides
Planning a family trip to China can be an exciting but daunting task, especially when it comes to finding the right guides and itineraries. As a family with school-age children, you want to make sure your experience is both educational and enjoyable. Fortunately, there are many options for English-speaking private guides who can tailor your trip to your specific interests and needs.
Beijing and Beyond
Beijing, the capital of China, is a must-visit destination for its rich history and cultural attractions. An English-speaking private guide can help you navigate the city's bustling streets and provide in-depth insights into places like the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, and the Summer Palace. They can also recommend family-friendly restaurants and activities that cater to your children's interests.
For a more immersive experience, consider extending your trip to other parts of China. Xi'an, home to the famous Terracotta Warriors, offers a glimpse into China's ancient past. A private guide can help you appreciate the significance of this archaeological wonder and share stories about the life and times of the Qin Dynasty.
If you're interested in natural landscapes and scenic cruises, a journey along the Yangtze River can be a highlight of your trip. Private guides can arrange for comfortable river cruises and provide insights into the unique culture and history of the regions you pass through.
Finding the Right Guide
When it comes to finding an English-speaking private guide, word-of-mouth recommendations and online reviews can be invaluable. Look for guides with extensive experience working with families and children, as well as a deep knowledge of the areas you plan to visit.
Reputable travel agencies and tour companies can also assist in connecting you with qualified private guides. Be sure to communicate your preferences and expectations clearly, such as your desired pace, areas of interest, and any special needs or requirements your family may have.
With the right private guide by your side, your family can experience the wonders of China in a more personalized and engaging way, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

We are 2 families with school age children wanting to go to Beijing during spring break next year. Can anyone recommend an English speaking tour guide - not a tour group? Not interested in sitting in a bus all day.
We would also be interested in traveling to other parts of China, like Xian to see the Terracotta Warriors and perhaps a cruise down the Yangtze River. Any suggestions is appreciated!
