Question:

We're going to Shanghai in April 2018! Anyone who traveled to Shanghai before would mind giving their input on our current itinerary?
Note: We are travelling with a 8 year old, first time in China. I also can't walk *all* day due to my knees so we try to keep it to about 20,000 steps. We like shopping, and visit shopping malls but not so much museums and art galleries. No real interest in historical buildings. We want to eat as much as possible so that's why we want to sche… See more

One of the hop on hop off busses was so much cheaper then the other like $10 each. I can’t remember which company. It was great if you can’t walk. It was cold when we were there and rainy so rode it around for an hour for a break.

20,000 steps is actually pretty good but I no longer can walk 12 hrs non stop like when I was younger lol! I have to pace myself.

Shanghai Travel Itinerary

We're so excited to be traveling to Shanghai in April 2018! We would love some input on our current itinerary from anyone who has traveled to Shanghai before. Please keep in mind that we are traveling with an 8-year-old and I have some knee issues, so we try to limit our walking to about 20,000 steps per day.

Our interests include shopping, exploring shopping malls, and trying out different foods. We are not particularly interested in museums, art galleries, or historical buildings.

Here's a rough outline of our itinerary:

  • Day 1: Arrival in Shanghai, check into hotel, explore nearby shopping areas
  • Day 2: Visit popular shopping districts like Nanjing Road and Xintiandi, try some local street food
  • Day 3: Take a leisurely stroll along The Bund, enjoy the skyline views, visit a local market
  • Day 4: Explore the French Concession area, visit Tianzifang for unique shopping experiences
  • Day 5: Visit Disneyland Shanghai for a fun-filled day with the family
  • Day 6: Relax and enjoy a spa day, try out some more local cuisine
  • Day 7: Departure from Shanghai

We would appreciate any suggestions or recommendations to make our trip even more enjoyable. Feel free to share your experiences or must-visit places in Shanghai!
