There is a hop on hop off bus tour in Muscat, takes you to all the sites and I believe you can listen to the commentary. I also got this pamphlet from my hotel last year I believe they do tours as well. From what I remember it's pretty pricy in Oman.

What do you want to see Karen? Oman don't do budget unfortunately. No reason you can't just rent a car and go for it, if your keen and want flexibility. You can wild camp anywhere in oman if you want to save $$ and it's the best. I'm in muscat right now and lived in the musandam before that so feel free to shoot any questions

Thanks, Nancy! We wound up getting a tour out of Muscat for 8 days so we can get to the most wadi possible. Is a car worth it in Muscat or is taxi/uber the better option?

Karen definitely a car. Taxis can be expensive here and the driving is quite reasonable and easy.

Interested to know if anyone knows of any group tours? Solo female traveling there during the week while my mates are working in Dubai. Interested in a 4-5 day tour checking out the wadis. Am OK self guiding but wouldn’t mind a guide to get the full historical experience.

Do you mean in Oman? My friend and I did a private tour with Al Maamari Travel for 8 days in the mountains and desert outside Muscat, and they were great.
