Affordable Hotels in Disneyland and LA for a 10-Day Getaway?

Question:

Doing a trip to LA and Disneyland for 10 days. Thinking Disneyland/universal for 5 days and the rest of the time in LA. Any suggestions on hotels in either of these areas? Just looking for accommodation for two that won’t break the bank! Also any must do activities in LA? Thanks

If you buy the city pass it comes with 3 days at Disney, 1 day at LEGO land and 1 day at sea world.

Howard Johnson great for location and families and also Staybridge. They have meals included but it is a bit further away. But they have free shuttles. We loved that hotel great pool and hot tub.

We stayed at the Best Western Plus across the street from Disney and walked over every day. Clean & easy access to the park.

I would stay at the Sheraton Park or really inexpensive the Clarion. Walking distance from park or cross the street to the disney parking lot and take one of their shuttles/.

We were just down at Disney for 7 days in June. There was 9 of us and we rented a house. It was super nice to have our own pool and we cooked all our breakfasts and dinners. Saved so much on eating out. We were also within walking distance of the park and therefore never had to pay for parking.
We did one day at Universal and we found that was plenty. Because all the rides at Universal at stimulators, both my husband and Is stomachs got upset and we didn’t even get to ride all the rides. Usually there is only about 8 rides open at that park per day.

Park Vue Inn. Right across from entrance, reasonably priced, buffet bfast, pool and you can see the fireworks from there.

I can second the Park Vue. Most hotels are across the street from the park, but only a few are across the street from the entrance. Park Vue is one of them.

Santa Monica pier, if you have a car go for a drive along the coastline, la brea tar pits is neat, the market downtown LA, rent bikes and ride along the beach, LA is actually a pretty fun place, Hollywood is a dump! But it has a pretty cool Ripley believe it or not museum. Koreatown has some incredible restaurants. We stake at the quality inn and suites by disney, and custom hotel in LA. Loved the Custom hotel but it's totally cheap but is right by LAX and pretry central to everything.

We have stayed at 4 hotels right across the street. My favourite and go to is Best Western Park Place Suites. It is the closest without staying in the park, which makes a big difference at the end of the day. All rooms have two beds and a sitting area so you are not so cramped, breakfast is included and they are clean. Usually cheaper or the same as others on the strip.

We stayed at the Camelot Inn and Suites Anaheim two different times. It's right across from one of the Disneyland gates. Denny's is close by, and so is McDonalds. We thought it was the perfect location.

Springhill Suites Burbank or the Hilton Garden Inn Burbank when going to Universal.
At Disneyland, most hotels are nice around here.

@spring hill suites !! Just stayed there last month. Updated hotel with new furniture and the comfiest beds. Each room comes with a living room I think! One block away from Disneyland. Costs about $5-6 to uber up to the main gate or 10-15 min walk. Best decision ever. Was never disrupted by kids or families going to the park early. Air con was perfect. I’ve stayed on property multiple times and enjoyed it here way more.

Oh also forgot to mention: awesome breakfast included too

We’re at the Residence Inn Convention right now and we love it! Ice cream and beverage bar by the pool, resort like, kitchen with full size fridge, one bedroom - sleeps 6, complimentary hot buffet breakfast, 10-15 minutes walk to the park (next to the Springhill Suites Convention), there’s Walgreens adjacent to the hotel and a CVS under the Springhill Suites Convention, huge hotel, clean and soundproof!

Love staying at the holiday inn park place across from the Disneyland park entrance! It’s not fancy at all, but it’s so nice to have such a short walk back to the hotel after a full day of walking

Just back this week and we stayed at the country inn and suites. Anaheim Big rooms ( over 600 sf) big pool, good breakfast with lots of space to sit. close to Disneyland. We were very happy there and I’m picky where I stay ( keep in mind they do charge $17 a night resort fee.

Laguna Beach is a lovely artsy community to spend a day or 2 in. Home of the whale mural artist Wyland. When I visited, I was ready to move there I loved it so much. Funky shops, good restaurants.

Skip LA, head to the coast. We like Paradise Pier at Disney if you can get a good deal

We were just in LA for 5 days in July. I recommend doing the hop on hop off tour through starline tours. We did 2 days. It helped see a lot of things we normally wouldn't have seen.

We also just returned from LA.. We also did the hop on hop off starlight. They have 6 routes for the one price.. Def would recommend it over 2 days. You get to see so much and learn did bits

We stayed in burbank best Western carriage Inn. It was just of the freeway. Lots of nice restaurants close by. Super comfy rooms and very clean

If you like cars go to the Peterson museum. It’s fantastic.

I suggest stay where you want to visit. LA traffic is horrendous. It took us an hour to go 5km thru Beverly Hills. So minimizing drive time really helps. We did the Warner Bros Tour and it was AMAZING. Way more “real life studio” tour than you get at Universal. We also went to a taping of America’s Got Talent which was fun. Google “show taping tix”. They are free. We stayed at a Courtyard Marriott in Burbank. It was new, clean and inexpensive relatively.

Profile picture of Pam

Oh and a day and a half at Universal will cover it all comfortably. Do Harry Potter as soon as the gate opens. It gets really long as the day goes on.

Profile picture of Wendy

We stay at Days inn near interstate 5. Has breakfast and shuttle . About 10 min walk to Disneyland . Food store close restaurant next door has ok food . About 1/2 hr from universal by car.

We spent whole day at Universal and missed so much 2 years ago my Grandson of 9 loved it there especially Minions but going back to Harry Potter soon
