I had a terrible experience with Peru Hop. Got stuck in Huaccahina for days because their bus was full and I couldn't hop back on. Also, when the bus was full I couldn't sit with the person I was travelling with.

Cruz del Sur was amazing!! I ended up taking it from Huaccahina to Arequipa and it was better than first class!! The seats laid all the way back and they served food and drinks. Very comfortable.

The Pan American Sur highway is amazing! It’s really the easiest way to get to Nazca. In Arequipa visit the Colca Valley to see Condors. Islas Ballestras are also worth thé visit.

I was in Peru at the end of last May and used Peruhop from Cusco to Arequipa to La Paz. Buses were fairly empty, so I quite often I sat by myself. Highly recommend if you’re a budget traveller. They have lots of cheap side trips to go on as well.

I did this Peru hop from Lima to Cusco in August and saw so much more of Peru. I encourage you to take some time & stop in Paracas at a nice hotel (very Caribbean feel) and Huacachina to have some sand fun (dune buggies, sand boarding). Stop at the Nazca lines. We spent 2 days in Arequipa to get acclimatized to the altitude then 5 days in Cusco, where we did day trips from there including Machu Picchu. We are in our late 40’s so did not care to stay in hostels so just booked our own hotels once we knew where the pick up points were. Casa Adina is a good hotel chain and they have a great hotel overlooking the main plaza in Arequipa

I loved Peru Hop!!! I appreciated someone who could answer my million historical questions. We also did some VIP Cruz Del Sur when the bus didn't meet our schedule - which was nicer than any bus experience i've had in Canada.
We did 4 weeks. Lima (if you like good food - this will be your playground...) - Paracas (the national park at sunset was amazing) - Huacachina (all awesome - side-by-side in the dunes is a must)- Arequipa (amazing markets...and food again)- Puno (Lake Titicaca of course) - Cusco (Inca Trail trek, fantastic markets to sip freshly suqueezed juisce and watch the world go by) and flew back to Lima. We loved every location. Would NOT recommend the Colca Canyon trek. We were happy to have the itin we did because the change in altitude was no joke.

Kay second this review. Peru hop was great and the stops are incredible and very affordable.

I only used Peru Hop once - their 2 day organized tour from Cusco to Lake Titicaca and it was worth it, very fun & well organized. I personally chose to take other bus companies when travelling around because they are so cheap (especially compared to Peru Hop) and such good quality - Cruz del Dur was awesome. I even took an "economy" bus instead of VIP and it was a nicer cleaner bus than any Canadian greyhound. I think it was like $25 CAD to get from Cusco to Arequipa.... That itinerary looks good just give yourself time to acclimatize in Cusco, the altitude is no joke

I took a day trip with Peru Hop and it was great! Traveled from Lima to Paracas and Huacachina for some dune buggy rides and sand surfing, which I highly recommend!!

If you are looking for a travel guide for inca trail pm me we went with a very good company a few years back
Laura
Sarah who did you use? I’ve done the Inca trail and felt our guide rushed us too much. I want to take my kids and do it again in a few years.
Jane
I highly recommend Lake Titicaca and the Nazca Lines
Wendy
I would skip Lake Titicaca. And try to add a stay at a lodge on the Amazon. It would involve a flight to Iquitos

If you are hiking the Classic Inca trail, I recommend Llama Path as guides. Also ensure you spend a few days in Cusco to get used to the elevation.

I agree to add a jungle tour. Amazing!! Che k out
Bonanza Tours Peru - Manu Tours. One of the colleges in Calgary sends their students there for part of their ecotourism studies. We went with them and they were awesome!

I used Peru hop last year totally worth it!! It’s nice too cause if you end up liking a city more than you thought you can always change your itinerary at the last minute

I’m Peruvian and it’s really nice to hear good experiences in my country
paracas is only 3 hrs from Lima, there’s day tours and it’s on your way to Arequipa. The colca valley is really nice trip as well. Never been to Puno for lago Titicaca but I’ve hear such good things! And well Cuzco is the crown jewel
Jamie
Did anyone do the colca canyon? Worth the two day trek or not? I’ve found split reviews from what I have found online.
Again thank you everyone for your recommendation I’m so so excited!

Jamie I did the 2 day tour in Colca Canyon (pick up was at 8am). It was good. Very basic/very cheap/ lots of vehicle time. I enjoyed seeing the landscape, the active volcano (from quite a distance), the canyon, the Condors... and for $35US, I couldn’t complain. If I had more time I would’ve done the 2 day hike... mostly so I could get some exercise

Peru hop was awesome. Surprisingly super comfy seats.
You’ll love the Inca trail. Challenging but oh so worth it.
If you have a chance head to Puno it’s lovely and the people are so kind!!
Be sure to take 2 days to explore Lima. Awesome cocktail bars, restaurants and things to do. We felt super safe.

My husband and I are looking to travel to peru in May. I am just wondering if anyone has any reviews on peru hop. Our plan is to peru hop Lima to arequipa then flying to Cusco followed by a trek on Inca trail to Machu Picchu! How does this look for an itinerary? As well any other must sees in Peru! Thank you
