Hi everyone, my boyfriend and I are going to Germany for a week near the end of September and are thinking of adding Iceland and Croatia or Barcelona. Any recommendations or advise on any of these places would be great! Thanks!

3 for Iceland, 7-8 Germany, 7ish for Croatia or Spain

Barcelona is great if your looking for a party
lots of young people and fun atmosphere. Tones of history too though if that’s what you like. I’ve heard amazing things about Croatia though! More of a beach vacation though

Hi Michelle, I've been to Iceland and Croatia (Dubrovnik) which I highly recommend!!! It's breathtaking! Get a hotel inside the old town. I was there last October.
Iceland is a ripoff!!! By my own experience, NEVER take a cab to Reykjavik's city center from the airport!!! I started throwing money out that way. It's about 45min ride (there's nothing near the airport) to the city center and it costs me $210 DOLLARS!!!! Reykjavik can be explored in a day. Everything else is far and you have to rent a car.....another kidney to be left in the country.....

I loved Croatia and it is worth it to stay in Dubrovnik and visit Split, accomdoations and food are very reasonable. I would go there again!!!!

I would fly in to Dubrovnik - spend 3 nights - bus to Split, ferry to hvar island 2 nights - split 2 nights then fly home from split!

Head to Poland your so close and quite cheap.

My family went to Barcelona for one week last May. My husband and I loved Barcelona. We rented a VRBO just outside of the downtown area in Eixample and walked almost everywhere or took cabs. I loved the art, (think Gaudi, the Sagrada Famillia, Parc Guell), cava, culture, walking down La Rambla. We also rented a car and did a tour of the coast. Fabulous beaches too! Can’t say much about Iceland and Croatia as we have never been there.

For a Spanish experience, I’d recommend Sevilla instead. Barcelona is just so crazy these days and overloaded with tourists. Unless you’re *dying* to see the Gaudi architecture, there are other Spanish cities with wicked culture to check out. I’d also skip Croatia and go to Montenegro!!! So beautiful, and so cheap. Dubrovnik is yes, beautiful, but stupidly overpriced. Croatian islands definitely better than the mainland, but I’d say check out Kotor or Budva in Montenegro.
As for Iceland, it’s definitely expensive but such a cool experience. It’s like being on another planet!! Rent a car as that will be the easiest and cheapest way to get around. Drive out to Vik to see the black sand beaches, stop at some waterfalls and geysers along the way, and go to Blue Lagoon on your way back to the airport!!!
just remember to pack a bathing suit you don’t mind wrecking a bit for the lagoon.

Definitely stopover in Iceland, especially if flying Iceland Air. They include up to 5 day stopover at no extra. We're doing a two night stopover in March on our way to Slovenia, Czech, Croatia. The flights arrive at KEF around 6 am, so you have a full first day. Can easily look around Golden Circle. We're going to try do a Snaefellsness Peninsula tour on one of our two days and Vik or maybe slightly further on the south coast the second day (all weather dependent of course). Long hours but so worth it. Will be our 3rd visit in 5 years. Then we're on to Prague, Bled, Plitvice Lakes, Budapest, south Moravia and Vienna.
