Yes...how long are you in LAX for?
Krista
Lax is the worst airport I have ever been to. (And I've been to a lot of airports) If you have time you may want to venture out to kill the time.
Kailey
Haven't booked flights yet however am looking at the following:
Krista
Yeah, you have some time there but not really enough to get out. If the price is worth it load some movies on the iPad and buckle down.
Kailey
Krista do you think 2 hrs is enough time for going through customs there etc before needing to make my connecting flight back here?
Tayla
It'll be tight. But doable if the flights are on time. You'll likely need to change terminals outside, it's not that far.
Krista
We flew in from Tokyo and it didn't take long at all to get through customs and to our gate. Should be more than enough time.
Lee
You shouldn't be going through customs until you return to YYC unless you're staying on LA for awhile? I've connected through LAX, SFO before as well as Vancouver. It's no big deal you just hang out until your connecting flight to YYC since customs isn't until you return to Canadian soil. I don't think 2 hrs is enough time for you to get out and come back in through a security and customs. As others have mentioned LAX is a pretty crappy airport and not super organized. I wouldn't risk it.

Depending on the day and time two hours in LA on the way back might not be enough. You have to go through American customs, grab your bags, drop them off again and then go through security and then get to your gate.
Sherryl
I've not returned through LAX but through SFO. The price will really have to be right before I put myself through that again. On the other hand, I've returned through IAH from Central and/or SOuth America multiple times and it pains me not. Go figure.
Jaime
Please don't book China Air. I promise you it's worth it to get a better airline.
Darwin
Yes. Its fine, go to Boracay awesome beach.
Tayla
Book your hotel near LAX well in advance if you need one. Nothing but trouble finding a room both times for me.
Barb
Only 4 hours - by the time you get to the new gate, etc. It will be 2-3. That's bearable.
Angie
I also hate LAX and would avoid it at all costs!

That's where my layover was coming home from Korea. But it was a short layover.
Shannon
A layover of 4 hours will give you a chance to take a cab to get an In-N-Out burger on Sepulveda Blvd. That would be worth a layover!
