Rio Secreto and Coba is more interesting than Tulum
Jana
Coba ruins, rent the bicycles and ride around the site. Three cenotes not far from there that aren't crowded. Rent a car for the day and you have time to do both.

The ruins at Tulum are a great place to spend a day.
Jan
Laszlo the beach down below the ruins at Tulum is lovely, if it is not crowded. Gorgeous turquoise.
Laszlo
Jan I know, so good! Great memories.
Daniel
Ask the locals
Jan
Selvatica Park is a fun day. Zip lines and a bike ride to swim in a cenote.
Dana
Chichen Itza is a must if you havent been before, book your tour at the resort thru their own tour company ....
Sandy
Cenote....snorkel!
Shelley
Great choice! We have stayed there twice. Book your ala carts early...they fill up. You are very close to the Tulum ruins and Xel Ha. Both are great. Snorkle or tube the lazy river at Xel Ha but either way, use the swim fins, even if you just tube. It's much easier to navigate. Have fun!
Adam
Definitely a Cenote tour. We got to belay down into one and swim and play, it was beautiful.
Lynn
Coco Bongo in Playa Del Carmen was really fun. Xplore, Xcaret, Coba/Tulum ruins, Ek Balam ruins
Marg
Chichen Itza is a world traveler must - most incredible sight for a former civilization - learned sooo much!
Krista
Xplor, Xel-Hal, Xcaret are all day all inclusive excursions. All three are amazing
Sonja

Xel-Ha!!

Walk to the resort gates and talk to the van drivers parked there. You can hire them for half the price as they save commissions if they don't have to pick you up inside the resort. You can get a ride to Coba, Chichen Itza and a cenote in one day easily, much more efficiently than in a tour bus and they supply a cooler for you to bring your own drinks etc. in the van. We did the same thing for an evening trip to Playa Del Carmen too.
Kam
Jay you know your stuffs
Jay
Also push back if the resort throws you curveballs if it's something important to you. My brother got married there, and they were trying to renege on promises like beachfront room for the wedding couple, a few other things. Squeaky wheel got the grease in the end.

Xel Ha is a super fun day. The golf course at the resort is fantastic! Super economical if you are a guest.
Earl
Go to Chitzanitza
Corine
Go to the town of Akumal to snorkel and have some local cuisine. Also Carboncitos in Playa del Carmen has awesome food and amazing monitors. The ruins are great but very hot and busy.
Kam
Coba not far away. Still let you hike the steps
