We just went to Japan last month and did Kyoto, Tokyo, Osaka and one night at an onsen in Kinosaki. We went with Kinosaki over Hakone for something different - with your accommodation, you get a pass to all 7 public onsens in the town. The inn gave us yukata and wooden clogs and we walked through the town from onsen to onsen. Super cool experience! I also have a full itinerary if you need any tips and found the Japan travel subreddit super helpful
