Try getting an Ativan prescription from your doc. It'll make you really relaxed and sleepy. I used it on my flight to Japan and it made it much more tolerable. I just felt all cozy in my seat and had some naps and watched movies.
Sabrina
Janna I slept on a girl I dont even know for 13 hours and she didnt even wake me up
Michelle
Ativan is an anti anxiety, and if you dont have anxiety it can have the reverse effect and make you very hyper. Dont take meds you dont need.
Matthea
Ativan is my travel buddy. Even for 3 hour flights. All about that Ativan. I sleep well on it and it chills me out so I feel content being cozy in my seat rather than clock watching
Janna
Michelle I don't have anxiety and it worked great for me. It's very commonly used for flights.
Matthea
Doctors will often prescribe it for flights. Because even those without an anxiety disorder can have anxiety being in a confined space for a period of time.
Michelle
Flight anxiety for sure! A lot of people are nervous flyers
John
Hmm maybe I'll get this too
Anna
iPad with movie shows downloaded. Music. Books. Get wifi if you can.

I do a few YYZ-SYD trips per year, usually about 21-23 hour flight total.
For jet lag - set your phone to the time of your destination at the beginning of your flight & base sleep around that.
For a great sleep I use Melatonin combined with Gravol. Nice & gentle

Don’t get a good nights sleep before. So you can sleep on the plane..
Warm socks! And ask for extra blankets if you need it.
Brush your teeth/ use the washroom when people are asleep or when it’s less busy.
If you’re traveling alone.. aisle seat so you can walk around to stretch your legs!
My family does these long flights going back home so we’re used to it.

I just returned from Delhi on AC 43 a direct 14.5 hour flight. Going I upgraded to Business ...expensive but worth it ....returning I flew Premium Economy ..... not worth the extra money. .....spend $100 and book a bulkhead window seat in economy if you cannot afford Business ....... get a set of good ear plugs and a eye mask ......
Lisa
Business is worth the upgrade
Charles
If you have the money ...... can cost anywhere from $100 - $300 per hour per flight segment ...
Eric
Usually, I set my watch for the time on arrival and I try to stay awake during the new day time and sleep at time I am supposed to sleep there.... In betwen, I eat, watch movies and read.
Lisa
Best method to date
Jason
Get up and walk around regularly. Drink plenty of water, and try to sleep at the appropriate time as the arrival sleepy time.
Katrina
Try to upgrade to a bulk head seat, usually only $100 more and changed my experience so much for my 17 hr direct flight I recently did. Also download Netflix to an ipad. Chill easy music helps make you sleepy.
GP
It's not too bad. Stay hydrated. The free booze with the meals will be tempting but will dry you out like crazy. I always bring my own water bottle on these long haul flights so I can fill up my own bottle (you can ask the attendants) and save all those plastic cups used.
Luke
eat a massive edible
Kevin
this is effective.

Shatter cake and Grandmas boy on rerun

I would like to try this but if your flying to somewhere that it's illegal how do you bring it with you for the return flight?

Surviving Long-Haul Flights: Tips for 15+ Hour Journeys
Long-haul flights can be grueling, leaving you feeling exhausted and jet-lagged upon arrival. However, with proper preparation and strategies, you can make the journey more comfortable and minimize the effects of jet lag. Here are some tips to help you survive those 15+ hour flights:
1. Stay Hydrated
Dehydration is a common issue on long flights due to the dry cabin air. Drink plenty of water throughout the journey, and avoid alcohol and caffeine, which can dehydrate you further.
2. Move Around
Sitting for extended periods can lead to discomfort, swelling, and an increased risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Make sure to get up and walk around the cabin every few hours, and perform simple exercises at your seat to promote blood circulation.
3. Pack Essentials
- Neck pillow: A good neck pillow can help you sleep comfortably during the flight.
- Eye mask and earplugs: These can block out light and noise, allowing you to rest better.
- Compression socks: They can help prevent swelling and improve circulation.
- Entertainment: Pack books, magazines, or download movies and shows to keep yourself entertained.
4. Adjust Your Sleep Schedule
Before your flight, try to gradually adjust your sleep schedule to match the time zone of your destination. This will help minimize the effects of jet lag when you arrive.
5. Stay Active Upon Arrival
Once you reach your destination, resist the temptation to nap. Instead, stay active and expose yourself to natural daylight, which can help reset your body clock and reduce jet lag.
6. Hydrate and Eat Well
Drink plenty of water and eat light, healthy meals upon arrival. Avoid heavy or greasy foods that can make you feel sluggish and exacerbate jet lag symptoms.
With these tips, you'll be better equipped to handle the challenges of long-haul flights and arrive at your destination feeling refreshed and ready to explore.
