Phuket was fabulous. Why not? Some of best laughs were from there, great visit.

I have been to thailand ! I LOVED pukhet. they have a vegas style show there called Fanta Sea and is awesome! If you take a ferry ride over to koh lanta - they have some amazing hotels there with huts on the beach! snorkling etc.
Julia
please do your research before going to Fanta Sea. Tigers and elephants are in this show - the combo of tourism + animals + asia is never a good one. Check it out for your self tho we skipped it.

If you have a chance to go to chaing mai there is a ton of stuff to do there - we went to hike to the long neck kairn (tribes with all the rings in their necks), elephant sanctuary etc. try not to spend too much time in bangkok. soo over populated and dirty!
Lindsay
I liked Smaller places like Hua Hin...mind you that was 16 years ago...I’m sure a lot has changed...
Cindy
My husband and I just got back from a month in Phuket if you stay away from Patong which we consider to be very dirty and sleazy you'll have a great time

I am leaving in a month. This is our third trip
It all depends on what you want partying with kids or beautiful beaches with a little village for eating and shopping
We love the Gulf of Thailand Ko Tao ( Chalok Bay) is our favourite but we loved Ko Samui (Lamai Beach) and Ko Phangan (Thong Nai Pan Noi)
This trip we are trying the Phuket area again
5 nights in Khao Lak (60 min above Phuket)
3 nights in Karin Beach (Phuket)
3 night Klong Nin Beach (Ko Lanta)
4 nights Long Beach (Ko Lanta)
3 nights on Railay Beach (Krabi)
3 nights Ao Nang Beach (Krabi)
I didn’t like Phuket the first time I went either. So busy with Russians and Chinese
We like the laied back beach bar atmosphere
Good luck we love it there
Tammy
If your young then You have to hit up Ko Phi Phi
I enjoyed it because there were no vehicles just little walking streets with bars restaurants, shopping

Taking a trip to Thailand in March with a girlfriend and we are looking for any advice or recommendations on what to do/see and what to avoid. We've seen posts about people saying skip Phuket, and are wondering why- as it seems to be a pretty popular spot to go. Thanks
