A resort, do you mean something Beachside? There are not any beaches in Bangkok, it is inland.

Stayed at Holiday Inn in Chit Lom several times. Great breakfast, nice pool and rooms. Easy walk to good food and the skytrain.

Travel Zoo had a sweet Thailand packed flight & accommodation 2 weeks. $2800. Used them last year to go to Bali. There link took me to Wing Buddy. All transfers, excursions. All taken care of.

Thank you for your info. We already have our flights and booked a cruise out of Bangkok but first we wanted to spend 6 days somewhere in Thailand.

Look at Hua Hin. Easy transfer from BKK. Samui is nice, but another return flight to add to your itinerary. If you need accommodation in BKK recommend SkyView Bangkok in Sukhumvit area.

Look for resorts on Koh Samet 2-3 hr by minivan or car and a short ferry ride. The island is mostly pretty walkable and you’ll find that turquoise tropical water that you are probably looking for. I lived in Bangkok for almost 9 years and this was the quickest escape from the city with nicest beaches. Avoid Pattaya at all costs. Hua Hin is full of resorts too but it’s a longer drive to get to and the beaches just aren’t as nice as Koh Samet.
Also, search the Agoda website for resorts. It’s popular in Southeast Asia.
