If you change your mind on a ferry to the island
West Coast River Lodge is absolutely stunning. You could rent the whole place to yourselves. Hot tub, pool, tubing down the river.

Willows Lodge in Woodinville, just north of Seattle is great.

A few years ago, we had a weekend family reunion in Squamish and everyone stayed at the Executive Suite Hotels & Resort. It's a lovely area with amenities, hiking trails, shopping, etc.
Another option is the Chrysalis Resort and Spa in Fairhaven, WA. Get the waterfront room view.
Both are within 2 hrs from the city without having to go on a plane or ferry.
Tanya
Whidby Island in Washington- Seattle ,

Sasquatch Ecolodge B&B in Stsailes. It’s near Harrison, I just can’t remember how many rooms there are.
Krista
Sunwolf in Squamish on the river in the woods up the valley is stunning and there is Fergies eatery right there. Wood stoves, love it there. little rental cabins all next to each other and a common room for games etc
Catherin
Krista sun wolf is almost always full especially if you need so many cabins and a set date you want to go.
Krista
True but worth a try! It’s so gorgeous there esp. for family events.
Valerie
Claire’s B&B in Ladner. 1920s decor. Fabulous food! Google website for images. I think 7 or 8 rms.

I’m not sure of the name of it, but there is a lodge or vacation rental property overlooking the river near Hope. I have seen photos of a wedding and they were amazing!

I can personally recommend the Fraser River Fishing Lodge and don't let the name make you think it's not luxurious. I've been a guest and also personally know the owners and this place has everything you need and more...and the meals.....there are no words.....the scenery is beyond description https://www.fraserriverlodge.com/
Shellie
Laurie that looks awesome
Laurie
Shellie it is sooooo nice and the meals are sooooo good...if you don't look at it because it's a "fishing lodge" then you've missed a real gem.....and I know many, many people miss it.

Check out www.StayVancouverhotels.com. They have their Visa/Hotel deal on right now for downtown hotels. I don't know what your dates are, but you can stay at the Pan Pacific for only $125/night on a mid November Saturday night! And lots of hotels even much cheaper! You get either a $75/$100/$125 Visa gift card when you check in. And you can use it immediately towards the cost of your room! I've booked my Mom and I into the Sylvia between xmas and New Years for around $120!

The Executive Inn and Suites in Squamish is really nice and if you get the side with the view of the “pond” it’s gorgeous!
Carol
Connie totally agree with you. Lots to do in Squamish too.
Teresa
i also recommend the Executive Inn in Squamish. Recently there for work conference and there is a lot to do there. Beautiful location. Sparkling hills is beautiful but I think overpriced. Vancouver hotels have a great visa deal - as someone mentioned.
Nod
There are new large cabins at Manning Park, self catering though.
Lori
When looking for retreat centre, Loon Lake in Maple Ridge came up. Might be worth checking out their website.

Planning a Memorable 50th Anniversary Celebration
Celebrating a golden anniversary is a remarkable milestone, and finding the perfect venue to commemorate this special occasion can be a challenge. With Harrison and Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine fully booked, and the desire to avoid Whistler or taking a ferry to the island, we have some fantastic alternatives within a 2-hour drive or even in the city.
Rustic Charm in the Cascade Mountains
For a serene and picturesque setting, consider booking a few cabins or a large vacation home nestled in the Cascade Mountains. Places like Leavenworth, Winthrop, or Roslyn offer a charming escape from the city, with breathtaking mountain views, quaint towns, and plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. These cozy accommodations can provide a perfect backdrop for a family gathering, complete with opportunities for hiking, fishing, or simply relaxing by a crackling fire.
Urban Sophistication in Seattle
If you prefer a more urban atmosphere, Seattle offers a wealth of upscale hotels and venues that can cater to your 50th anniversary celebration. The iconic Fairmont Olympic Hotel, with its grand architecture and prime downtown location, is a stunning option. For a more modern vibe, consider the Thompson Seattle or the Hyatt Regency Seattle, both offering luxurious accommodations and top-notch amenities.
Another option in Seattle is to rent a large vacation home or an entire floor of a high-end apartment building, providing a spacious and private setting for your family to gather. Companies like Airbnb and VRBO offer a wide range of options, from penthouses with stunning city views to sprawling estates with outdoor spaces perfect for hosting an intimate celebration.
Wineries and Vineyards in Eastern Washington
For wine enthusiasts, Eastern Washington's wine regions, such as Woodinville, Walla Walla, or Yakima Valley, offer a unique and delightful setting for a 50th anniversary celebration. Many wineries and vineyards offer on-site accommodations, ranging from cozy cottages to luxurious villas, allowing you to immerse yourself in the wine country experience. You could also consider renting a large vacation home in the area and arranging private winery tours and tastings for your group.
No matter which option you choose, the key is to plan ahead and make reservations well in advance to ensure availability. With a little creativity and careful planning, you can create a truly unforgettable 50th anniversary celebration for your parents, surrounded by the love and support of your family.

Looking for recommendations for our parents 50th. Harrison is fully booked as is the Semiahmoo Resort in Blaine. Would need 7 rooms. Whistler has been done and not looking to take a ferry to the island. Any suggestions within a 2 hour drive or even nice hotels in the city.
