Try booking your flights with an Asian travel agency in Calgary, say Nippon Travel or one from the Chinatown.

If you have enough aeroplan points, you can consider getting your ticket from Japan to Hong Kong using your points. I find those to be a great deal - only 20000 pts return (30000 for business class) and the airport taxes are generally lower than North America. Have fun! I lived in (and loved) both places!

Oh and if you don't have aeroplan points, there are also a bunch of low costs carriers between Japan and Hong Kong (Vanilla Air, JetStar, and HK express) which may make it worth your while to get a separate ticket within Asia instead of a multi destination. Check them out.

I went through a agent in Van, let me know if you are interested and I can grab you a contact. But I got my JR pass from nippon travel and they were very helpful.

Tips for Booking Multiple Destination Flights and Getting Decent Seats
Booking multiple destination flights can be a bit tricky, but with the right tips and tricks, you can make the process smoother and more enjoyable. Here are some tips to consider when booking your flights from Calgary to Hiroshima Japan to Hong Kong and back to Calgary in November:
1. Use a Multi-City Search Option
When booking multiple destination flights, it's important to use a multi-city search option on flight booking websites. This allows you to input all of your destinations at once and compare prices for the entire trip. Make sure to be flexible with your dates to find the best deals.
2. Book Early
Booking early is key when it comes to getting decent seats on long flights. Airlines often release their best seats in advance, so the earlier you book, the more likely you are to secure a comfortable seat with extra legroom or a window view.
3. Consider Upgrading
If you're willing to splurge a bit, consider upgrading to premium economy or business class for the long flights. This will not only give you more comfortable seats but also additional amenities and services to make your journey more enjoyable.
4. Check Seat Maps
Before selecting your seats, check the seat maps on the airline's website to see which seats are available and which ones are the best options for comfort. Look for seats with extra legroom, near the front of the cabin, or by the window for a better view.
5. Join Frequent Flyer Programs
Joining the airline's frequent flyer program can also help you secure better seats on your flights. Members often have access to preferred seating options and can earn points for future upgrades or free flights.
By following these tips, you can make booking multiple destination flights and getting decent seats a much smoother process. Safe travels!
