I am originally from Honduras, so have spent quite a few Augusts in the Caribbean, and though it can be rainy at times you are bound to see the sun every day. The benefits are that the prices are good during this time and the beaches are not as packed as in other times.

personally, no. too hot and humid, too many mosquitoes. often rainy. it's Carnival in many places though. so if your body deals well with humidity and heat go for it. i would just be a lump.
