Dive Into Your Dream: Where to Find the Most Enchanting Overwater Hut Escapes?

Question:

Hey! Just looking for some advice/recommendations.
We're planning a trip somewhere warm & beachy for March 2017. Looking to stay a few days in an over water hut (my dream)! We want to SCUBA dive, probably check out some local stuff, but definitely planning to keep it more low-key than a city-break.
We are happy to check out the Caribbean or South Pacific.
Anyone have any experience with this, or recommendations for a place to not miss?

I was going to say that Belize is in the top 2 of our list, but didn't want to go on and on! Any specific spots you'd recommend?

You can dive the Blue hole from there as well as the reefs. Amazing diving/snorkling.

Thought about doing a liveaboard dive trip? Sleep, dive, eat... repeat 3-4 times per day. Not in the Caribbean or South Pacific, but there are some good liveaboard operators out of Khao Lak in Thailand. You can do it in the Komodo Islands in Indonesia as well.

It's definitely on our list, but in a couple of years. Thank you for the reminder!!

You know it's off season for Bora Bora in January as it's winter time for the locals . Sign up to various hotel chain email sales and also sign up to Tahiti Air. Buy your tix from Canada to LAX and then wait for a direct flight seat sales.

We're actually in LA now, but I refuse to unfollow everything Canadian, because of course we'll move back! So, yeah - LAX works well.

Overwater Hut Getaway for March 2017

Planning a trip somewhere warm and beachy for March 2017? Dreaming of staying in an overwater hut? We've got some advice and recommendations for you.

Caribbean

The Caribbean is a great option for an overwater hut getaway. There are many islands to choose from, each with its own unique charm. Some of the most popular islands for overwater huts include:

  • Jamaica
  • Barbados
  • St. Lucia
  • CuraƧao
  • Aruba

The Caribbean is also a great place to go SCUBA diving. There are many beautiful coral reefs to explore, and you can even swim with dolphins and sea turtles.

South Pacific

The South Pacific is another great option for an overwater hut getaway. The islands here are more remote than the Caribbean islands, but they offer a unique and unforgettable experience.

Some of the most popular islands for overwater huts in the South Pacific include:

  • Fiji
  • Tahiti
  • Bora Bora
  • Moorea
  • Maldives

The South Pacific is also a great place to go SCUBA diving. The waters here are crystal clear, and there is a huge variety of marine life to see. You can even swim with sharks and manta rays.

Which destination is right for you?

The best destination for you will depend on your budget, interests, and travel style.

If you're looking for a more affordable option, the Caribbean is a good choice. If you're looking for a more remote and exclusive experience, the South Pacific is a better option.

If you're interested in SCUBA diving, both the Caribbean and the South Pacific offer great opportunities. However, the South Pacific has a wider variety of marine life to see.

No matter where you choose to go, you're sure to have an unforgettable experience in an overwater hut.
