All kinds of free wifi in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam although sim cards are dirt cheap, easy to find and work well. Depends on how long you will be in each country

We were just in Thailand and bought a SIM card at 7/11. It was for 30 days and unlimited internet for about $10 Canadian. It was awesome especially for GPS.

tons of free wifi everywhere, but just get the SIM its super cheap and you have wifi everywhere, the only place i lost it was in the middle of HaLongBay and some islands in Thailand.. but it just helps with maps and getting around.

Sarah does the same SIM work in Thailand, Cambodia and Thailand or do I have to buy one separate for each country

Heather separate as they are separate countries. But seriously, super cheap.

Just got back from Thailand and the physical Sim was super easy to get at the airport. 2 weeks was like 15 cad for unlimited data. However if you are travelling around to multiple countries, I would just do the online ESim for each country for unlimited data to save you having to physically change your card. I second the airalo comment below.

Used a pocket wifi in Japan and HK. Very convenient if you are travelling with a family or more than 1-2 devices. Otherwise a SIM card may be the way to go. You may want to arrange beforehand so you can pick up from Airport.

Travel WiFi Hotspots: A Convenient Solution for Southeast Asia

Traveling to multiple countries in Southeast Asia, such as Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, can be an exciting adventure. However, staying connected and having reliable internet access can be a challenge, especially when dealing with different SIM cards and data plans for each country.

The Convenience of Travel WiFi Hotspots

Travel WiFi hotspots have emerged as a convenient solution for travelers seeking seamless internet connectivity across multiple countries. These portable devices provide a secure and reliable internet connection, allowing you to stay connected without the hassle of purchasing and configuring local SIM cards.

Benefits of Using Travel WiFi Hotspots

  1. Seamless Connectivity: With a travel WiFi hotspot, you can enjoy uninterrupted internet access as you move from one country to another. No need to worry about compatibility issues or roaming charges.
  2. Cost-Effective: Renting or purchasing a travel WiFi hotspot can often be more cost-effective than buying multiple local SIM cards and data plans, especially for shorter trips.
  3. Secure Connection: Most travel WiFi hotspots offer secure and encrypted connections, protecting your online activities from potential security threats.
  4. Multiple Device Support: Travel WiFi hotspots typically allow you to connect multiple devices simultaneously, ensuring that your smartphone, tablet, and laptop can all access the internet.
  5. Convenience: With a single device providing internet access, you can avoid the hassle of searching for and configuring local SIM cards in each country, saving you time and effort.

Real-World Experiences

Many travelers have shared their positive experiences with travel WiFi hotspots while exploring Southeast Asia. They appreciate the convenience of having a reliable internet connection without worrying about compatibility issues or roaming charges. Some even recommend specific rental companies or devices based on their experiences.

If you're planning a trip to Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, considering a travel WiFi hotspot can be a wise decision. It can provide you with the connectivity you need to stay in touch with loved ones, access travel information, and share your adventures seamlessly.

Remember to do your research, compare options, and ensure that the travel WiFi hotspot you choose offers sufficient coverage and data allowance for your needs. Happy travels!
