https://borderless.teamlab.art/ I wish I was there for this but it's amazing from what my friends have told me. Studio Ghibli museum (need to book ticket online 1 month before the date you want). If you like matcha ice cream, you can visit Suzukien north of Sensoji Temple for 7 levels of intensity of matcha ice cream. shimokitazawa is a cool area to visit - very hip area to check out. You can check out my travel blog for my Japan trip from April 2017 (Tokyo, Kanazawa, Takayama, Kyoto, Osaka). My Itinerary and some helpful advice is on there. Enjoy!

Rosanna I second the MORI Digital Art Museum! It's unlike anything you will ever see. Was my favourite part of Tokyo for sure.

Take the train out to Kamakura for a day to see a bit of old Japan. Great walking area near the sea.

I second Ueno park for cherry blossoms, you might catch them towards the end of your trip. The entire atmosphere of the city changes when the blossoms are out. People set up tarps under the trees and eat and drink with families and friends late into the night. The Sakura latte from dotour (big coffee chain) is worth a try!

Shaleen You might look at love hotels, larger than business hotels about same cost. Also some apartments for expats can be found at a reasonable rate

Tokyo Travel Guide

Heading to Tokyo in late March? Here are some suggestions and advice for an unforgettable experience in the vibrant Japanese capital.

Must-See Attractions

  • Sensoji Temple - This ancient Buddhist temple in Asakusa is one of Tokyo's most iconic landmarks. Explore the stunning architecture, wander through the bustling Nakamise shopping street, and savor traditional Japanese street food.
  • Imperial Palace - The Imperial Palace is the primary residence of the Emperor of Japan. While the interior is not open to the public, you can stroll through the beautiful East Gardens and witness the picturesque Nijubashi Bridge.
  • Shibuya Crossing - Witness the famous "scramble crossing" at Shibuya, one of the busiest intersections in the world. It's a mesmerizing sight to see thousands of pedestrians crossing simultaneously.

Cultural Experiences

  • Sumo Wrestling - If your visit coincides with a sumo tournament, don't miss the opportunity to witness this ancient Japanese sport. The atmosphere and rituals surrounding a sumo match are truly fascinating.
  • Tea Ceremony - Immerse yourself in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony, known as "sado." Learn about the intricate rituals and etiquette involved in this cultural experience.
  • Kabuki Theater - Kabuki, a traditional Japanese form of theater, is a captivating blend of music, dance, and drama. Catch a performance at one of Tokyo's renowned kabuki theaters for a truly unique cultural experience.

Dining and Shopping
  • Tsukiji Fish Market - Although the iconic tuna auction has moved to a new location, the outer markets remain a must-visit for fresh seafood, sushi, and a lively atmosphere.
  • Harajuku - This vibrant neighborhood is a hub for fashion, youth culture, and quirky shopping experiences. Explore the colorful streets, vintage stores, and trendy cafés.
  • Ramen Alley - Tokyo is a ramen paradise, and Ramen Alley in Shinjuku is the perfect place to indulge in a variety of delicious ramen styles.

No matter where your adventures take you, Tokyo is a city that seamlessly blends ancient traditions with modern innovations. Embrace the energy, immerse yourself in the culture, and create lasting memories with your loved ones.
