Wondering if anyone has any advice about picking a small cruise/tour company for the Galapogus islands. It's overwhelming to read, so many choices. Looking for a cruise that takes 16 - 30 people. And which route? East islands, west islands? Thanks in advance!

I have a ton of info if you want to send a message. Just got back from an 8-day cruise with a western itinerary (I highly recommend the west) and our boat was 20-passenger. Was totally fantastic and got over 50% off in the end. We were on the Galaven I and the guides really made the trip for us, even altering it slightly to accommodate some bucket list items (snorkeling with feeding marine iguanas etc).

I waited until last minute and got a deal...pricey but the guides are the best I have ever used. They are regulates, highly trained and really know rheir stuff...all good I think.

Don't miss the ton of volcanos along the cross country Pan Pacific freeway.Did a 5 day Amazon jungle tour...all we saw was a few monkeys...a long trip with not much to see, not recommended..

Yes G Adventures was a great company. We were just there last month. 16 people on the boat through the south/eastern islands.

Choosing a Small Cruise/Tour Company for the Galapagos Islands

The Galapagos Islands are a unique and amazing destination, and there is no better way to experience them than on a small cruise or tour. With so many different companies to choose from, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. Here are a few tips to help you narrow down your choices and find the perfect company for your needs.

1. Consider the size of the group.

Small cruise ships and tour groups typically accommodate between 16 and 30 people. This intimate setting allows you to get to know your fellow travelers and the crew, and it gives you a more personalized experience. If you are looking for a more social and interactive experience, a small group tour may be a good option for you.

2. Choose the right route.

There are two main routes that small cruise ships and tour groups take in the Galapagos Islands: the East Islands route and the West Islands route. The East Islands route includes stops at Santa Cruz, Isabela, and Floreana Islands. The West Islands route includes stops at San Cristobal, EspaƱola, and Genovesa Islands. Both routes offer unique experiences, so it is important to choose the one that best suits your interests.

3. Read reviews and compare prices.

Once you have a few companies in mind, it is important to read reviews and compare prices. This will help you get a better idea of what other travelers have experienced and how much you can expect to pay. Be sure to read both positive and negative reviews to get a well-rounded view of each company.

4. Consider your budget.

Small cruise ships and tour groups can vary in price, so it is important to consider your budget when making your decision. Prices can range from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars per person. Be sure to factor in the cost of flights, food, and other expenses when budgeting for your trip.

5. Book early.

Small cruise ships and tour groups often book up quickly, so it is important to book your trip early, especially if you are traveling during peak season. Peak season in the Galapagos Islands is from June to September.

I hope these tips help you choose the perfect small cruise or tour company for your Galapagos Islands adventure. With so much to see and do, you are sure to have an unforgettable experience.
